The first (top) picture shows what I ultimately received compared to the inspiration picture (bottom). Spending $72 ($86.40 with tip). To give some context, the designs cost $25, and they even gave me a 10% off discount due to a mix-up before my appointment. -is what i thought the technician explained to me during checkout. I ended up getting another 10% off as a voucher because she forgot to give me the 10% off discount for the promotion via Instagram.
Yesterday, I spent about an hour and a half, until closing, getting my nails done. I kept correcting the nail technician on changes I wanted, but as it got closer to closing time, I felt defeated because there was no time left to address my concerns. Then, out of nowhere, she pulled out a box of gems (she added the glue onto my nails so it was not only a suggestion) and suggested adding them on top of the bow- without asking for my permission. Saying, "Just one gem would be prettier" and tried begging me. I ended up saying no three times.
This morning, I stopped by to see if someone else could fix the designs because I was not happy with them. And did not want the person who did them the night before. (I know this is on me because I never asked for their name but I remembered the blue Christmas nails and bracelet that looked like it was from pandora). They told me to be seated where I was the night before, but I didn't think I would've been paired with the same technician as before if I did not like my nails earlier. The technician who had done my nails last night offered to do them again. I tried to politely explain that I would feel more comfortable with someone else since I was unhappy with the initial designs. However, she insisted she could fix them, and I eventually had to be firm and say no.
At the end of the appointment, the gentleman who worked on my nails told me, “There’s a 75% chance we can exactly replicate the designs you showed us, so we cannot guarantee they will look the same.” I tried to explain that if I was paying $25 for designs, I hoped to be happy with the outcome. Then I began to elaborate that I didn't choose the teddy bears because I thought it would be time-consuming; I wanted to make things easier for them and would have compromised if they had simply communicated that it would be a difficult design.
He responded with, “Have a good day,” but in a firm tone that felt dismissive.
I initially hesitated to write a review, but after my experiences, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. While selecting my designs, I was prepared to spend a considerable amount of money due to the precision and time required. However, what I received was not worth the time and hassle. Yes, during the appointment I never fully requested someone else to do them or firmly vocalized that I did not like them. After all, I knew I came in late -which I explained why over the phone because I used the location on the website (copied and pasted onto my maps, now fixed). When we spoke on the phone, it did not seem like a problem, and she even said it happens. I told her it would be another 30 minutes until I was able to go and I even offered if it was an issue we can cancel it, but they said it was okay. We even briefly talked about it during the session, but she did not seem upset about it. Yes you can say I "went home and threw a tantrum" and that we haven't communicated well, but when I came in the next day I really hoped for a better experience.
I said I went to different salons because I was trying to find a salon that I would continuously go to. I just moved here from out of state, and I am trying to figure out which salon would be the best fit for me, not entirely from bad experiences. *Added more close-up...
Read moreHighly recommend. Jenny is really good, my friend had two other techs, unsure of their names but she said they both were great. I got gel for the first time in years, I told Jenny my concern about how they always file my nails down and my nails got brittle when I used to get gel in the past.
She was so gentle, and so caring with my nails. My cuticles and skin were pretty overgrown cuz of not going for so long and she took a lot of time and I didn’t get snipped, pinched or cut once.
I didn’t realize one toe nail was slightly ingrown, she got it fixed with zero discomfort. I couldn’t believe how skilled she was.
She said that they had something that you put on the gel to make it come off without needing to grind it off, or soak it in acetone since that can dry out your skin or cause irritation.
They’ve been there for about four months, so I was skeptical but was so worth it.
They use disposable when they can and have autoclaves for cleanliness for the tools.
Very kind and professional staff, decor is comfy and cute. They were very honest with my friend about colors and techniques that would work best for her nail beds, and what she was asking for, as well as asked pertinent questions about activities planned and how certain colors would show up on acrylic vs...
Read moreMichelle and the other nail techs here are amazing! I got a pedicure with gel so I could have french tips on my feet. The pedicure was amazing and my toes looked so pretty. Such a pleasant experience and great environment, so I got acrylics too.
I asked for the french tips but a shorter almond shape, and one flower (the last picture was my inspiration). Michelle made sure throughout I was happy, and was very detailed. She is very friendly and even asked to make sure the shape was good! Even let me pick the exact gel color of the flower out of different options of white shiny gel they had, and asked about each of the colors of the nail down to the base to make sure it was how I wanted it. Kind of amazing there is so many options, and she made the flower so exact. Result is sooo cute. Detailed process, and takes a lot of skill how she shaped my nails perfect! I paid $144 before tip. (pedicure with gel and french tips + acrylic full set with add ons) Totally worth it, they even took pictures for me. Very caring and...
