Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Cary

Welp! After reading the terrible reviews I can only be mad at myself! For the past two months I have purchased several mediocre smoothies praying that just maybe it was a fluke. Well the JOKES ON me! After today I will never step foot inside a tropical smoothie. The quality and customer services is 0/10!

For the price point every smoothie should be made with the highest quality and care! Today I started at the Crossroads locations. The smoothie was chalky, and had no mango taste whatsoever. The staff was friendly and very nice but the smoothies were terrible. After the second remake I just left.

I drove to this location! Met with a nice manager who was willing to remake my smoothie / only to be rudely disrupted by the cashier with a nasty attitude. She proceeded to say “I’ll just make it”. I knew then my smoothie would be worse than what I had from the location at crossroads!

The color, texture and taste were terrible. It tasted like ice! I was so angry at her tone and negative energy I left and trashed the $9 smoothie. I use to be a fan but tropical smoothie has fallen way off!...

Came in around 7 or 8pm Sunday June 10th. My date ordered an island green I ordered an orange ginger glow. Walked out drive away. Started drinking the orange ginger glow, moments later started noticing my stomach feeling unusual. A mixture of a bloating feeling with a sort of indigestion. It started small and grew. I ended up having to end the date early due to the stomach pain and discomfort growing. I laid down to get some rest and feel better, hoping my stomach would sort things out. Not much longer and things are now much worse I’m beginning to feel like I’m going to empty the contents of my stomach all over the floor. Inevitably I wake and violently hurl all over the floor to the point my stomach is empty and I begin dry heaving. It was very displeasant, uncomfortable & painful. Never have I ever had a problem drinking a smoothie but this one had something amiss. Rancid OJ, dirty ice, mishandled fruit I don’t know what the culprit was but something was definitely wrong with that smoothie. This needs to be fixed, as of right now I have no plans to ever go back...

Normally, they are good, but this time they forgot about half of my online order (or gave it away to someone else...). I managed to get someone's attention after a few minutes (a feat in itself during their rush when they basically just ignore everyone to get stuff done) and she asked what I had ordered and seemed to me looking into it. Then time passes and I get nothing and she's gone on doing other things, so it isn't until a full half hour of waiting (50 minutes after ordering) that I get someone else's attention who finally makes the rest of my order.

Just be aware if you're going to go here during peak lunch hours, you have a wait due to the crowd and if you try to bypass by ordering online, good luck getting it fixed if there's a problem.

On a random side note, while I was sitting there observing, their bananas look totally disgusting. I'm guessing they use bruised or overripe leftovers. I'm sure that's fine when it's all blended up, but I wasn't...
