Used to be our favorite breakfast place in town and frequented it often, but after our last visit we wonāt be returning. We went to Eggingtonās for the first time since covid yesterday and from the moment we arrived until we walked out the door, the entire experience was beyond disappointing. The restaurant closes at 2:00 and we arrived at 1:15 thinking we would have enough time to eat and be done before closing time. (We were done and gone by closing time btw). The atmosphere and attitudes of the staff was rude and we were treated like highly inconvenient nuisances from the minute we walked in. We were met with hostile stares, juggled between several servers and outwardly made aware of fact by the person who got stuck with us, and consistently ignored as much as possible for the duration of our stay. Understandably, some dining-in options may have changed due to Covid such as no longer having salt and pepper shakers and the jelly trays at the table, but when we asked for even these most simple items to go with our meal, we were treated as if it were highly inconvenient and not even given a choice of what options were given to us. When asked, our server didnāt even respond just walked away and returned shortly after with the minimalist of what we had requested. We were given two packets of strawberry jam for three plates with toast on the side (not asked what preference we would like just assumed strawberry was what we wanted I guess) and a bottle of red Tabasco sauce (the flavor of hot sauce also assumed) when asked for hot sauce! I was scoffed at when I asked if there were any other sweetener choices besides standard processed table sugar or sucralose for the coffee- almost $6 for two cups of coffee was definitely too much for the quality! The terrible service might have been overlooked as bad day if the food had not been just as bad. The portion sizes have decreased and the food was bland. The server explained that they had run out of cheddar Jack? Cheese and asked what other kind of cheese we would like on our food, but when asked what kind they had I was again met with the rolled eyes and sigh so I said whatever the closest substitute they had would work- apparently this translates into no cheese as I struggled to find any on the tasteless ācheesyā hashbrowns and the scrambler we had ordered, but since there was only enough for a few bites in the portion (of cheesy hashbrowns) I received, I guess it didnāt matter! Everyone in the place seemed unhappy to be there and the only person who had a smile on their face and any semblance of a welcoming attitude was the hostess! Needless to say, Iām very sad that we have lost another good dining establishment in town as we wonāt be returning here, the food and service were too poor to constitute paying the prices we did and I would not recommend it to family and friends.
Update: After reading my review, the owner Pete Fazio, contacted us sincerely apologizing for the experience we had and went above and beyond to make it up to us. This level of customer service and attendance to his patrons in my opinion redeems the negative experience we had! Thank you again Pete, we can always do with more individuals such as yourself who care about their customers satisfaction! Because of this attentiveness I felt it necessary to changed my score and update my review. š consider us once again...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the worst best review of this restaurant, only because I don't know all the names of all the things we ate šš but OMG first of all let me start this off by saying that I appreciate the owner/manager (not sure which is his title) going around from table to table to check if everyone likes their food and see if they need anything and then thank them for coming. I almost NEVER see that and it is so nice! Anyways I got the Florentine Benedict with the red potatoes and it was AMAZING! My picture was after a few bites, but I assure you the presentation was great! All of our plates actually looked beautiful before we ate them. My eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked, the English muffins are beyond perfect (I highly recommend ordering a side of them by themselves with jam actually lol), tomatoes and spinach were fresh and well placed so I had a perfect bite every bite. My husband ordered the country fried steak with cheesy hashbrowns and he said they were top notch, I wouldn't know because he neglected to give me a bite šš. And our 1 year old had the breakfast banana split which is yogurt, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, and granola. I of course tried it and it was so good, almost refreshing in a way lol, and I wish I got a picture because it was so pretty how the strawberries were fanned out on the bannans. The big star of my son's plate was, what I don't know the name of, but basically a carrot cake slice of bread š it was so moist and had carrots and raisins it was delicious! I wish I lived here just to go back for more every single day! We also got some pancakes but decided to take them on our trip back home and our waitress was so nice she brought us butter, syrup, and to-go cutlery and napkins. Lastly I will just say we had peach tea that was yummy and there is a super cool bison painting on the wall where he's drinking a cappuccino, I love it and want it so badly!!! If you're visiting Casper there is no point to eat anywhere else. If you live there you probably already know, or at least I would hope you know! 100% willing to say this is my favorite breakfast spot in the state and I don't even live in Casper. If there's a line I promise you that you'll want to wait,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās my first time to Casper and I heard Eggingtonās was the place to check out. My daughter had been here once and recommended the avocado toast. My server Melanie was a real gem! She brought two waters to my table because she didnāt know if I was meeting someone, but said she was going to keep the 2nd water for me in case I was really thirsty, once she found out I was solo. I drank them both! I told her my daughter said to get the avocado toast and she said, āAre you eating healthy because thereās so many other really good things on our menu?ā She told me about 7 different dishes, raving about the sausage gravy, and then gave me some time to consider my options. I ended up ordering the Southern Benedict, add tomato & spinach, with the eggs poached. WOW!! The gravy is the best Iāve ever had out to eat. I was so full, but didnāt want to waste any of the goodness, so ate it all. They were packed inside, but operated like a well oiled machine. Melanie took time to make conversation and to ask me what I was in town for, even though she was busy zooming around. She said sheās worked there 19 years! Melanie left a wonderful first impression on me of the people of Casper!! Eggingtonās and the community are lucky to have someone...
