It was just OK...on my table we had a new menu item that was a -cast iron skillet dish with potatoes, veggies, and eggs over easy chicken tenders and fried with mac n cheese n buscuits -and a bacon cheeseburger with fries
The skillet dish was looking great until realizing the vegetables had a heavy water run off into the rest of the dish..so because the eggs where over easy, the yolk just ran into the pool of water with potatoes swimming in it...i understand it is a new dish but it just...does not work with watery vegetables on top...maybe the other kinds of skillets would have been better.
The chicken tenders where...pretty blah tasting..not very seasoned ...good for a kids meal though...but it wasnt a kids meal. The fries where crispy so that helped us stay happy..lol But I must say...THE BISCUITS were delicious. They are perfectly fluffy and melt in your mouth...best i have had in a while. .so im assuming their biscuits and gravy might be good but im not a biscuits and gravy girl..ill take the biscuits though..lol..wish i had some honey
I specifically asked our server if the mac n cheese was good and he surely boasted about it as if it was the best... unfortunatly it was more like macaroni in cheese sauce water.
The bacon cheeseburger was overcooked, I guess this isnt the type of place that asks you how you want your burger cooked.
Overall the service was nice. Our server was very lively, the manager came over and asked us if we were happy, we said a plain "yes thanks" in unison and he thanked us for coming. I would say this is a nice family resturant where kids wont complain about not finding anything on the menu and grab a sweetie at the bakery or some coffee to go. They had some salad dressings in bottles up front that looked unique but didnt get a chance to look much as the fam was ready to leave..the whole ambiance of the resturant spoke COMFORT FOOD and friendly service. Maybe the cook wasnt that great that night because the table across from us complained about their food also.. Dispute the eggy water skillet and the surrounding complaints from other table, the server did a good job asking us if we wanted a fix or to deduct from tab. He also bought us some free extra fries and entertained us when he shouted "mozzletoff" [or whatever] when we heard glass break in the kitchen..lol....sorry, no pics this time. Maybe on a...
Read moreMy server was the same person who sat me. First, she sat me at a dirty booth. The seats were covered in crumbs, there was old food, wrappers and crumbs in the wood section of the seat and the floor was filthy. She disappeared. After a while she came back and asked for my drink order. At this time I was ready to order. My food was delivered. Never did she come back to ask how things were. My empty soup bowl sat there when she delivered my sandwich. I was again not asked how the sandwich was. The check was brought out and I was told that I could pay up front. I asked if I could order dessert. I was ignored. Fifteen mintues later I was able to flag her down. I just wanted a piece of apple pie. The pie was delivered and there was a problem. I do not care for hot pie, the caramel that was on it was not listed on the dessert menu and made it way to sweet and I cannot eat whipped cream (so I took that off before I tried the remainder). I could not eat this dessert. Ten minutes later I again had to wave at her to let her know that the dessert was not ok for me. No offer to remake it. She just said so you want me to take it off? Yes, I did. I then went up to the counter to pay. Had to wait several minutes there too. I understand all of these things when a place is slammed. There were exactly 6 cars in the parking lot including mine and 3 tables including mine on the side of the restaurant that I was on. I do eat at Bob Evans all over central Florida. This location is is less that 1 mile from my home. I have not been here is almost 2 years so I thought to give it a try...
Read moreWe haven't been to this location for like a year & a half but I've always loved their fork tender pot roast! So today, we've decided to try it again because it was crazy busy at Cracker Barrel. I said HI to the server before she asked us about what we want to drink. I specifically said "Very light ice on my sweet tea & my daughter's!" I even said PLEASE!!! Unless she did not hear me because of the mask! She came bck with 2 teas with lots of ice! They put their drinks in a small Mason jar! If u put tons of ice it will taste like ice water!! Come on! I'm paying almost $3 for teas!! So she apologized but I think she was kinda annoyed because after I asked her a question about an entree on the menu she was abrupt about it & walked away! In other words she has attitude THEN Iinstead of asking us if we're ready to order she ended up taking the order of the group that was seated after us! That was extremely rude!! I asked for a different server! The manager Jeff was very nice he gave us 2 cinnamon biscuits! I really don't want anything, just respect from that server with braided hair because I work in food service & I respect servers & ppl behind the kitchen! I know they worked hard!! The new server treated us better but I will think 100x before I come bck to this restaurant!! Thank you Jeff!! The food was mediocre but it could've been coated with excellent customer service from that...
