Wild Blue Yonder Brewing Company in Castle Rock is a veteran-owned brewery with a welcoming, upbeat vibe that makes you feel right at home. Tucked into a beautifully restored old carriage house, the space blends chic contemporary styling with cozy warmth—favorite for locals and visitors alike. From my visit, I loved their large indoor bar and bright beer garden out back, where string lights and patio seating give it a laid-back, friendly feel .
What really stands out is the beer. They've got 16 taps pouring everything from crisp German-style lagers to rich coconut oatmeal stouts. I sampled a flight and was especially impressed with the “Las Cruces Lager” and a smooth “Coconut Oatmeal Cream Stout” that was silky and flavorful. The stout even earned a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival—background that shows in the quality of each pour .
The food menu hits all the right notes for a brewpub. We shared the decadent truffle fries and Wisconsin cheddar curds—so good—and each sandwich and burger (the Black Dahlia Burger is a standout) arrived hot and satisfying. A Yelp reviewer summed it up nicely: “The food was great. Truffle fries were delicious! The beer was also excellent. The service was also top notch. We'll be back!” .
Service during my visit was prompt, friendly, and attentive—our server clearly knew the beers and made fun, helpful recommendations. The place was buzzing but still unhurried. On a weekend afternoon, I joined a VFW tapping event on the south patio, with live spirit and a strong community atmosphere .

Read moreWon't be back... This WAS our regular spot in town as we loved almost every aspect about this restaurant. The servers/bartenders are amazing, food and drink are some of the best in Castle Rock. Unfortunately, today the owner decided to visit his business, which is a rarity, and decided to interject himself into my husbands and I's conversation.
My husband was speaking loudly due to him being hard of hearing, the restaurant being loud and busy, and I was emotional due to the topic of conversation which was about my deceased father. The owner decided to send a small statued waitress over to me to ask to speak in private. She asked me if I could have my husband quiet down as he was speaking too loudly... then said if not we'd have to leave and asked if I was OK.
As I went back to the bar to tell my husband, the owner who was standing next to my husband accused him of assaulting me. As we attempted to pay our bill, the owner continued to provoke and draw attention to the situation. My husband is far from abusive. And, if this was that type of situation, all the owner would have done was create a bigger issue for that woman to endure after she left.
Once outside, several of the wait staff came out to ask us why we were so upset and begged us to not let the owners behavior detour us from coming back. I know that us not returning to this establishment will not effect the business, but I won't put my money into someone's pocket who acts in...
Read moreWe were very disappointed with Wild Blue Yonder Brewing Co. The atmosphere and vibe are great, no doubt. However, the service and menu were very disappointing. My friend and I ordered fairly good salads. However, my friend asked for a different dressing (tzatziki sauce) and was told she could only have it with the Greek salad. (She couldn't have a side of it?) That makes no sense. I had the Greek salad and just asked for extra, and gave it to her. Our husbands ordered burgers, and our entree salads came out 20-25 minutes earlier than our husbands' food. It is very unusual to stagger the arrival of a party's meals. My friend's fries were forgotten until almost the end of the meal, and she asked 3-4 times. Our husbands' burgers were missing the caramelized onions; they ate them anyway and told the server later. They didn't want to wait any longer since the food's arrival had taken so long. Unfortunately, Blue Yonder was out of a couple of popular items, a type of burger and the chips. We had to ask 2 times for silverware as well. I know this review lists a lot of complaints, but we experienced all of this in one meal. Our server, Finn, was very polite and tried to be accommodating, but we will not be...
