Continuing to share some great places I ate at this weekend 😬 Today, I want to talk about what I consider the best pho place I've tried in San Antonio so far—it's also quite authentic. This weekend, my Vietnamese friend took us to this spot, and I finally had some truly authentic and delicious pho here (I previously recommended another pho place, but after trying this one, I think it's definitely better! The other place was just okay, but their rice was excellent 🤣).
The broth at this pho place is on par with what I had in Vancouver! It's super fresh and tasty 🤤 I haven't had such good broth in San Antonio, so it was really impressive. Thumbs up 👍🏼
I ordered their combination pho. When I go for pho, especially for the first time, I usually choose this option 🤣 because it lets you sample all their meats along with their original broth, giving a clear sense of how good the place is 🤣
We also tried their oxtail pho, which was fantastic. For about fifteen to sixteen bucks, they give a generous portion of three large oxtail pieces. I thought I might not be full because of the size, but after eating all three pieces and some of the other ingredients, I was completely satisfied and didn’t need any appetizers 😄
We also ordered their seafood pho and rice, both of which were great 👍🏼 Oh, and the table next to us ordered their special sizzling plate. We originally considered ordering it but decided against it because it came with a pancake. Later, when we saw it, it looked pretty good. So, next time we visit, we might try it 😬
That’s a wrap on my impressions of this place. I highly recommend it to locals if you’re in the mood for pho. It’s truly delicious and a great value...
Read moreBeing Việt and growing up eating pho my whole life, I can honestly say that I am picky. After moving to SA and trying all the pho places in the whole NW and W side, I’m declaring now that Pho Viet SA is the best in SA.
Everything from the broth, to the meat, the portion size, the quality of ingredients, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. The broth is deep in flavor, yet light and fragrant, and not oily like other places. This place does does NOT skimp on their meat. There’s only 1 size option and their bowls are huge with tons of meat. I can’t stand places who give you 2 slices of beef and 1 meatball! I typically dress mine up with herbs, hoisin sauce, sriracha, lime and black pepper. But the broth tastes amazing on its own. There are some vegetarian options on the menu as well as the standard American-Chinese dishes. However, if you’re going to dine here, I highly recommend sticking to the authentic Vietnamese fare. My favorite is the pho with fatty brisket and meat balls, but they have a ton of options to choose from. I’ve also had their pho delivered and it’s still great, you just have to reheat the noodles in hot water first.
Great Vietnamese restaurant with delicious pho, great portions, fair prices, friendly staff, and wide menu....

RIGHT HERE!!! The best service.. there was this elderly man which took pride in his job.. 2-2-25 was the day we came on at 4!!! He was so nice and amazing and you can tell that he loved his job and really cared for the customer... Probably one of the only reason I gave this review. He really made us smile! Next, the food. While I did love it, people might not enjoy the different tasting sauce from other places. What I mean is like the sauce tasted different, but I think that's what gave it its charm
