Probably want to avoid this place unless you are really craving Indian food--as it is the only option in town.
I've eaten here twice. And as a lover of Indian food, this place has the distinction of being simultaneously the most overpriced place I've eaten at while also providing the smallest portions I've been served.
I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo for a take -out order & then again tried it for lunch with the spinach paneer. Both times, the person taking my order asked which kind of Naan I wanted, then charged me extra for the Naan without telling me it was extra as apparantly it isn't included in the price of the entree.
In addition, my take-out order was charged $2.00 note than the posted menu price IN the restaurant and when questioned about the price, was told that the "take-out" charges are different--even though that price change is not listed in the restaurant & apparantly only available to view online. Also, my in-house order of the spinach paneer was charged full price of 9.99--in spite of a POSTED "vegetarian special" price of $8.99 on the wall DIRECTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE REGISTER!!!
Lastly, the portions both times left me unsatisfied & my $2.00 naan consisted of a single, small piece of nann.
So while the flavor & quality was not horrible, it was also far from good -- especially for the price -- and combined with the small portions & dishonest pricing, I will not be...
Read moreFor newcomers, this is not an Indian restaurant. I ordered butter chicken, coconut chicken curry and mutter paneer. The best part is all the curry’s not only looked same but tasted same too. None of the curry’s taste as they should or at least close to what they should, all of them were bland and looked and tasted as the gravy was boiled and they added chicken cubes for chicken curry and veggies for the veg curry. The curry’s are a disaster and the half boiling fried rice was not far behind. They didn’t have naans too for which they give you flatbreads (I guess they didn’t know about naans in Costco or sams). The food was priced at 12/curry which is extremely high for what they served. I would suggest they to serve this with the rice for 4-5$ unless they want to cheat customers. They had a sheet near the billing counter which gave details about their owners, it looked impressive but with all that experience they serve people such food !!!
This is not even food that someone can eat. I would recommend people to stay away from this restaurant if they want a decent meal.
I wouldn’t give 1 star too for this place but google does not accept...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could. Normally I am not someone to complain, but I feel this needs to be said to notify others. Bombay cafe here in cedar city is charging customers 18% gratuity for using the starving student card after you leave the restaurant. I did not agree to the price. I signed my receipt to the price I thought I was paying. When the charge came through my tip had been doubled. If I would have paid cash the 18% gratuity would not have been charged. I paid more for my meal than if I didn’t use the starving student card because usually only get water. Then I was charged double the tip that I originally left. When my husband called the owner, the owner was very rude. He said that it says it at the bottom of the receipt that it will be added, but no amount is seen on the receipt when I signed it. I don’t agree with this practice and will not be returning to Bombay. If you go there I would pay with cash to get the price you agree to. You never know what you might be charged. My dad was over charged twice and had to dispute it and my sister had four dollars added...
