I feel bad for the owner who invested in this restaurant. I don't think they have any idea the number of people walking out of their establishment simply by witnessing horrific customer service. I stopped with my family for a healthy option on our way back to Utah. The girl at the register was so rude and acted like being at work was the worst thing ever. We all noticed it right away but tried to engage and make the best of it. We placed an order for 3 sandwiches. 40 minutes later we still did not have our meal. The one other group in the place engaged us and told us to run because they had waited a long time for poorly made food. While waiting we watched countless people come in and walk out simply because they witnessed the way the employees were treating each other and customers who would ask questions. Eventually we walked out. We were closing in on 50 minutes and we could not wait any longer. We went around the corner, walked into another place and were instantly greeted in a cheerful way by 3 employees. We placed an order and in 7 minutes we had our food and we were back on the road. This is a tale of two establishments, 3 minutes apart in distance, one was full of untrained teens who had no clue how to run a business and provide customer service. The other was full of well trained teens who had been trained to be professionals and provide a customer experience that is fun and positive. The manager even had a nice note for customers to read on their visit. On our ride home we used the two places to teach our children about customer service and business. In the end we felt sorry for the owner of this Tropical Smoothie location because they have a decent business model that offers customers a healthy choice. Unfortunately at this location the employees are a huge problem and it is costing the owner...
Read moreThe employees were nice, but we waited patiently for 28 minute wait for two wraps. That was from the time on the receipt until we got the food. What we thought was going to be a quick stop to grab a quick bite was anything but that. We weren’t even there at a peak time, and there were only two small groups of people who ordered while we were waiting in line. By the time we left the parking lot, 40 minutes after parking, my hungry-pregnant-emotional wife was in tears. They were kind, apologized for taking so long and gave us free cookies. Which was nice. The Thai wrap was good. The kale and apple slaw was drenched in sauce, so much that my wife commented multiple times “is this even salvageable?” After the fifth napkin, the answer was no, and we threw it out.
Take home message, nice employees, but work on get food out quicker. And if you want a healthy side, go with the fruit. The food is over priced, and I would honestly go someplace else. We didn’t get a smoothie, but I have heard that...
Read moreAs soon as I opened the door, I was greeted by an awful stench. That should have been my first sign to not order from here. I've worked food service before, so I understand that an empty lobby doesn't mean there aren't orders, but I could see a girl with sandy blond hair and glasses leaning against the smoothie counter on her phone, ignoring the fact I was there. I figured out what I wanted before trying to get her attention, and she rolled her eyes and came up to the register. She was short and unwelcoming the entire time I was ordering, and didn't even wash her hands before making my smoothie after touching her phone and my cash. It kinda grossed me out, but the smoothie was too expensive for me to give much of a fuss. Once she finished making my smoothie, she was rude in almost shoving it at me and going back to the same spot she had been, and getting back on her phone. Very glad I didn't order food so I...
