Taco John's — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

General Manager is RUDE and called me a LIAR!!!! My daughter ordered 2 Potato olays and 1 cheese sauce. on website yesterday Conformation said pick up 130pm. She sent me to pick it up. 120pm i get there to pick up. Employee was very nice and told me i wasnt on the computer yet to pick up. He asked for the confirmation number, so he could start it. I didnt have my phone so i went to the car and got it. I texted my daughter and she screen shot the confirmation. I showed the employee and the General Manager my phone and the GM said well it would be 130 and it will be on the screen for us . At this point it was past 130 and still no order. The GM told me that he cant do anything about it. My daughter must have gone onto a fake website or it was a past order, since it wasnt on the app. I asked him is the app and website different, He saId YES. So i texted my daughter to get on app and see if this dude is telling the truth. At this time he never yelled once, but he called me a liar, straight out of his mouth.LIAR,that we did nt make an order. So now im embaressed cause people are looking and wondering whats going on. He then asked me why she ordered 2 potato o lays and just 1 cheese sauce. I was thinking what the hell is this guys problem. He was very rude, he was stand offish and a jerk.. The employees in the back and the front was so nice, tho Only good thing about this experience. Keep the $15 you need it more than i. Wont be back.

I wouldnt have this GM run a Lemonade stand if i was corporate. OHhh. Just so you know in the future"GM'. The website and app with the same credentials does work in unison. Because the app has the order there and it said canceled at 150pm....

I LOVE Taco Johns. I drive from Iowa City to Cedar Rapids just to get it because there is not a restaurant around here. That will change soon as they are building a restaurant in Coralville!! I personally believe the ground beef and chicken is 100x better then that of Taco Bell. The best part of Taco Johns in my opinion besides the ground beef are the potato oles. The potato ole seasoning is second to none and is addictive! I like to put my potato oles on my tacos and burritos as well for an extra crunch. Taco Johns also has burritos that come with potato oles already which is a fantastic idea. At Taco Bell, their meals come with only the tacos/burritos/etc. and a drink. At Taco Johns, you get the tacos/burritos/etc., along with a drink PLUS a side of potato oles. The only reason Taco Johns didnt get five stars from me is because of the price. Taco Bell is much, much cheaper but that can be reflected to me in the quality and taste of their products. Taco Johns does much better seasoning their food and it shows up in the taste. I recommend Taco Johns to anyone looking for a great West Mex...

Their spicy chorizo breakfast burrito is the best dang thing you can get in the morning. I order it weird to make it healthier (no eggs, swap out the nacho cheese for shredded cheese), & most of the time they nail it. The price is very reasonable. I order it so frequently, they know my order the second I start talking at the drive-thru order box thingy. Today they screwed up & threw eggs on it. Normally I wouldn't complain since I'm a human garbage disposal, but I just don't care for eggs. So once I got to work I called down there & talked to Heidi. She is so friggin' awesome. She apologized & promised to bring me new ones... at work! I'm just down the road, but still, that kind of customer service is unexpected & unheard of. Thank you so much! I will continue to patronize this establishment for my morning...
