Table for 3; Lunch with visiting mother-in-law As we approached the pizzeria, we noticed they had an attached parking lot. It wasn’t huge, but we quickly found an available spot. We arrived about an hour after opening on a Sunday, so it wasn't packed—plenty of space for a mid-sized lot. We noticed a few tables outside, but with Georgia pollen everywhere we decided to sit inside. Walking in, we were greeted warmly and informed we could seat ourselves. After scanning the newly renovated and spacious dining room, we found a booth along the far wall, opposite the bar. Our server came over quickly, provided us with menus, and brought waters soon after. Wifey and I checked out the beer selection. The menu featured many of the usual suspects but also suggested asking about some rotating craft choices. Wifey ordered a Blue Moon, and I was about to go with a Creature Comforts Tropicalia when the manager mentioned he had a Double Hazy from Parrish Brewing available. I took his recommendation, and I’m glad I did! My mother-in-law opted for a ginger ale. We took our time reviewing the extensive food selections. Wifey went with her favorite Margherita pizza, her mom ordered a plain cheese, and I built my own pie with chicken, onions, and jalapeños. We all ordered the “Mini,” which is their personal pan pizza size with about four slices. Sean, the manager, came over again to check on us and chat for a bit. My mother-in-law mentioned wanting to come back when she’s in town in September. He advised that would be right in the heart of football season and that Galla's is home to the Atlanta Buffalo Bills fans. We won’t hold that against them, and we’ll definitely return—especially since they have TVs everywhere, perfect for watching the games. She also said the place gave her a nostalgic feel, reminding her of her teenage years—the only thing missing was an old school jukebox on the table! Overall, it was a great 1st visit to Galla’s. We will definitely be back to try some other menu items. Sean and our server Gabby were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I was a big fan of the crust—super crunchy...
Read moreWe frequently eat at Galla’s and have been fans for a long time. Tonight-that ended. We will NEVER pay to eat here ever again. We always get the same things when we order (always to go food). Tonight, the salads contained roughly 15 pieces of lettuce each- we ordered the “regular” size. The first one was the club salad- we paid $1 for salami to be added-we received 1 thin slice, paid $1 for pepperoni- why doesn’t this come on a Cobb salad?, paid $1 for half a slice of provolone cheese. In total- this 15 leaf lettuce salad with barely any add ons was $11.50. I got go to Hal’s Steakhouse for a side salad of that price for way better quality.
Anyways- called and asked for the manager. The girl in the phone was short and direct. Basically, we got what we paid for and it was our fault for ordering the “wrong size”. Not only was it a size issue, but also quality. She continued to go on without caring at all that we were unsatisfied. She said I couldn’t have a refund even if I brought the salad back because she “personally” checked that the order was correct before she sent it out and they wouldn’t make us another small salad for me to come pick up just from sheer lack of quality. I proceeded to say that we would never ever be back and she said okay- sorry about that. That is the worlds worst customer service.
I work in the industry and it isn’t that hard to keep loyal guests happy. Sad day for us. But I will never be back and if I were you, I wouldn’t waste...
Read moreBeing from Buffalo we've been coming to Galla's for many years. We've noticed the food had been slipping as new people were cooking it and apparently different owners? My wife has been a Weck person for years and complained that that sandwich hasn't been up to her standards for some time. We will be going today to check out the remodel and food. We are hoping the prices haven't gone up any higher? It is a long enough drive for our families to meet there. Every once in a while we go for our Buffalo fix. We sometimes have company that were or are from Western, N.Y. and take them there too. I will be adding another review of our families' experience today. Hoping it is a good one! Update: We went on Saturday for a Valentine lunch with our daughter, son-in-law and grand-daughters. The food was good. The wings were on the small side but very crispy which everyone liked. The pizza was thin and crunchy on the edges. Ingredients were good and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I spent over $150 for the meal and a generous tip. Service was great and the manager was always around making sure of things. I told him my only complaint was they'll need a bigger parking lot. My wife is also hoping they'll bring back her Beef on Weck. I forgot to ask if they'll ever offer the Friday...
