Taqueria Los Rayos — Restaurant in Chamblee

The waitress was rude in that she didn't give us time to look at the menu before she pestered us for our order. Even after we asked her to please give us 5 minites or so, she was back in less than a minute. My friend ordered his go-to Taqueria order. I was tryong to lool at the menu when she hastily said, "Nachos. You like nachos?" Then she proceeded to stand directly over me with her hand on the menu pointing & showing me pictures of nachos, fish, & tacos. I backed up hoping she would ease up a bit. When she didn't I just ordered mu go-to Taqueria order of chicken tacos. She brought my friend the wrong drink. He drank it anyway. The tacos were all tortilla with a miniscule amount of meat...flavorless, bland meat at that. There wasn't enough lime to give it flavor, so we had to drown them in both salsa verde & salsa rojo to give them flavor. Luckily they use Tortillas de Milagro instead of less flavorful ones. The chips & queso were pretty good, but the queso has no seasoning. I did really like my drink... Agua de Jamaica. The price was too high... 8 puny tacos, chips & queso, & 2 drinks for $28. The good part about this restaurant is that it stays open very late...so we will probably be back some late night when the munchies hit. I won't order the tacos...

I love this place!!! I drive all the way from Lithonia when I want some good Mexican food. The owner is a joy and she is always trying to make you visit as pleasant as she can and the staff is wonderful. I've been going here for over 15 years and it's still the same - great food and great people.

Update: Stopped here on way home and was very disappointed. Tried to phone in an order and person on phone could not understand English, in America. Both ladies behind the counter seem to think it was funny that there was a communication problem. Second, the menu has been changing since the original location, which is why I like the place. Food does not taste the same now. I hate to do it but I'm changing my...

This was delivery thru Uber eats. So I ordered the steak taco, pork and steak taco and the alitas picosas...basically hot wings. The tacos were ok. I would have enjoyed them way more if I had caught them when they were first made. I would order them again. But it's just something about the alitas picosas...I could not get with that taste. I tasted the first one and I was thinking...ok this is different in taste. Tried a second one and I knew after the second bite that I didn't like it. I don't know if it's the seasoning or the sauce they use. But it wasn't good. I threw away the remaining 8...smh. But because I liked the tacos..I will try something else from the menu. They can keep those...
