I ordered online for curbside pickup. After I paid, I noticed the order was for a store in Chandler, not Mesa. I immediately called the number provided on my confirmation to cancel the order or transfer it to the store that I thought I was ordering from. I ordered at 2:43pm for a 5:30pm pick up. I called the number several times pushing the #2 when prompted. After it rang for a bit, the call was disconnected. I then pushed the #1 prompt for ordering pizza, they could only transfer me to the store and it would again ring for a bit then disconnect. I called 15 times in 45 minutes and only got a human to answer 3 times when I pushed the #2 prompt and they would once again transfer me only to have it ring then disconnect. I got pretty frustrated and decided to just go in person to cancel my order (30 mins away). I asked to speak to a manager, he was the manager. I explained the situation and he, the manager, told me he was ignoring the phones because he had been there alone and was busy. There was a female manager there and another employee in the back at this time. I just wanted my order canceled and hoped it had not charged my card. Too late, card had been charged so he did void the order (since it was for a future time), gave me a receipt of the void and casually said, "Sorry about that". That was a waste of 1 1/2 hours of my time. This was at the Store on Ray/Arizona Ave in Chandler, AZ on Dec 26 around 4pm. I am sorry I did not get the managers name but he was sure pretty casual about the whole thing. I am not happy about the whole situation especially since this could have been avoided if he would have just picked up the phone. It was my bad for ordering from the wrong store which I still do not understand how that even happened because I looked up closest locations on my phone, clicked the store I wanted, placed & paid for my order online then saw that it ordered it in a completely different city. Not a good day for me...
Read moreI will have to admit, it has been a long time since we had ordered anything from Pizza Hut. I checked my order history and we haven't ordered there since 2019. Besides the pandemic, the crust was something that didn't always seem consistent when we ordered. Back when they offered flavored crusts, they were sometimes too salty or too greasy. Compared to other pizza restaurants, they also don't always have the best deals.
This week we decided to give them another try. I ordered online and was able to use 2 different deals. We had a $10 large 3-topping pizza with a hand-tossed crust and a large 1-topping stuffed cheese crust for $13.99. We drove down to the restaurant to pick them up and they were both ready within the 15 minute estimated cook time.
The hand-tossed pizza was good. We had pepperoni, pineapple, and Italian sausage on that one. I liked the crust. It tasted really fresh, but plain. Whenever I think of Pizza Hut from the olden days, I think of a buttery tasting crust. Maybe that is only the pan pizza now, I am not sure. I might try that next time. The pan pizza is an additional charge of $2 or $3.
The stuffed crust pizza was also yummy, but when you choose to have the 1 topping on only half the pizza, I wish that they would give you what they would have put on the other half, since you are still paying the same price.
Both pizzas were cooked nicely and the employees were friendly and quick when we went to...
Read moreI ordered The Edge for the nostalgia factor and it was a terrible disappointment. Our carry out order took 48 minutes even though we were quoted 20 - 25 on the phone. The pizza was supposed to be half ultimate and half cheese and it came out all... something that might have been an attempt at ultimate, but failed miserably. It was just sausage and green pepper.
It took staff 5 minutes to acknowledge that we were there, then they told us the pizza would be right now. That was after 25 minutes. 23 minutes later the pizza finally came out. I worked at Pizza Hut for 11 years in every position possible, including general manager. It does not take 23 minutes to make, cook, and cut a single pizza. That means the order wasn't even in the oven when we arrived, but we were told it would be right out.
Then when we checked it and discovered it was wrong it took another 5 minutes to get someone's attention to get a refund. I strongly recommend avoiding this Pizza Hut. There are lots of other locations you can visit, but skip this one.
On that note, 10-ish years ago, Pizza Hut Incorporated made the decision to franchise the restaurants in Metro Phoenix and the franchisee immediately began making changes for the worse, including cutting pay and adding responsibilities to all positions. I want PHI to know, this franchisee is killing your brand and the fact that it's been 10 years of this and you've done nothing means you don't...
