Pretty disappointing overall. Expect standing room only and few services. Prepaid $45 for two tickets to see a Saturday show, but couldn't find any space to sit, lean on a wall, or get drinks. No separate line for those with tickets, so we had to wait about 20 minutes outside in a storm. People were literally soaked going in, but still in good humor. ID check was fine, and everyone in attendance was polite. After the entrance line, people formed a separate line for drinks. When we waited our turn and got to the bar to order, the bartender/manager refused service and threatened immediately to kick us out, even though the people in line behind us explained multiple times that we were ahead of them. It's a surprisingly aggressive tactic and impolite way to treat people who are paying you and fully cooperating with others, but apparently this is a common thread from other reviews. The layout is really constraining and felt pretty unsafe in case of fire or some other issue... It would be less scary if they sold a number of tickets more appropriate to the capacity of the space. You can't really see or hear the show from the front room and have to pass a narrow hall space squeezed between the bar and bathrooms to move between rooms (common in the older buildings on Franklin St) where people are packed in like sardines. Unless it's a minimally attended night, I would have to say that other local music venues and bars offer a much...
Read moreI was just here last night to watch my buddy's band play. Great, cozy venue for local and national acts alike. The sound is kind of a hit-or-miss sadly, as the sound guy didn't seem too keen on assisting some of the bands. But I can't really comment further since I don't have more info.
From the time I entered the doors of the venue until the time I left, I had a great time with friends & family enjoying great music. The staff were all courteous and helpful.
Sidenote: venue entrance fees are cash only and their ATM is out of order so plan ahead.
The bar staff did a FANTASTIC job of ensuring everyone was helped as well. Great drink selection at very reasonable prices.
I made the mistake of walking my beer outside to chat with buddies, and the staff simply politely asked us to move inside with our drinks instead of escalating the situation any further. Of course I complied; he was super nice about my goof and I was more than happy to oblige.
I mention this because other venues I've been to would've made a huuuuge stink out of a smiliar scenario, creating conflict with otherwise cool-mannered patrons.
Thanks for the great time, Local 506! SUPPORT...
