I originally stopped in here after work when I was feeling depressed as truck. I intended to get a single beer and leave. On a whim, I decided to order a Greek salad because I was in the mood for a salad and they had a small size, and also out of curiosity, because everyone who knows, knows that salad is an excellent litmus test of the overall quality of a restaurant; if the salad is bad, the rest of the food is sure to follow in its footsteps.
To my surprise, the salad was excellent; in particular, the greens were fresh, which was truly unexpected for a beer-oriented establishment, and I was genuinely impressed. The rest of the items I have eaten and consumed here have also been surprisingly good. As far as American fare goes, this restaurant is the best Iâve tried on JI, and perhaps in Charleston.
So far, this review has been relatively mundane, and you are losing interest. Dear reader, it is now time to let you into an intensely personal experience I had while dining here. This is our secret.
I ordered the pretzels, for the second time. But they were out. I have a solid food and bev resume, working at multiple restaurants as a bartender and server. Every time we were out of something, and a guest expressed negative emotions towards the fact, I would always internally scoff. âJust get something else, you silly little nerd,â I would think.
But this time, today, not even a half hour ago, I felt it. An intense wave of grief and sorrow. The pretzels⌠they were out of them. A single tear made its way out of the corner of my eye. The first time I have cried in 30 years. And now⌠I get it. No one can really tell you what itâs like until you experience it. I was sad⌠but for the first time in my life, so, so alive.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Famâs Brewing Co. Thank you. If I die today, Iâm happy how my life turned out. (I ended up getting the bruschetta instead, bee...
Read moreWalking into Famâs Brewing Company feels less like stepping into a restaurant and more like stumbling into an alternate universe where pizza is a divine art form, wings are sculpted by angels, and fries are seasoned with pure joy.
Letâs start with the wings: crispy, saucy perfection that made me briefly question whether Iâve ever actually eaten wings before. Then came the fries, golden little wands of happinessâsomehow crunchy, salty, and addictively snackable all at once. But the pizza? Oh, the pizza. Calling it pizza almost feels insulting; this was a culinary delicacy that should be displayed in a museum, yet eaten with reckless abandon.
Now, about the beer. We tried seven different brewsâseven!âand each sip felt like floating on a cloud while an â80s rock god softly played a ballad in the background, reminding you that life is good and beer can, in fact, be transcendent. Every pint had its own personality, but together they formed a tasting journey that made us forget about time, space, and calorie counts.
And the atmosphere? Imagine your living roomâbut cozier, friendlier, and filled with people you didnât know five minutes ago but somehow feel like youâve known forever. Itâs the kind of place where you can laugh too loud, eat too much, and still feel like you belong.
Famâs Brewing Company isnât just a pizza and brewery jointâitâs an experience, a glorious collision of comfort food, craft beer, and pure Charleston hospitality.
Would I go back? Letâs put it this way: if theyâd let me move in, Iâd already be...
Read moreAbsolute best deepdish pizza you will find in charleston period!!!very clean, nice atmosphere, exceptional and friendly staff.it is really nice to finally see a resturant that actually has good food in this location.i ordered take out from here, when i arrived to pick it up i found out they had forgotten to add one of the toppings i wanted in my stromboli.the bartender told me they will happily make me a new one with all the toppings i asked for.i told her not to worry about i will be perfectly fine without it.when i received my food and bill i realized they had taken the stromboli completely off of my bill.they by no means needed to do this i would have happily paid for it and not had any issues with that whatsoever.when i got home and tasted the food i realized how great the food really is the marinara sauce they use is supurb.but nothing compares to their deep dish pizza i urge every foodie in charleston to give it a try.then you can make your own assumptions.rest assured you will not be dissappointed.i am also very interested to try their brews the next time i go there.in charleston there are tons of places you can go and have good food, but finding a casual resturant that has the customer service that compares to familiaris would prove to be difficult.customer service and the experience goes a long way with me and when it comes to this particular resturants customer service they are priceless.no questions about it,i will be going back here and you...
