Our party of 3 came in on a Sunday with a reservation for 8 PM. Since we were only visiting for a long weekend, our quest was to try as many Charleston foods as we could and this spot happened to have the Lowcountry Boil. We ordered that to share but it was pretty underwhelming. We didn't think it would be a lot of seafood and we just wanted to try it - but this plate is probably meant for one person as a full meal. But I'm also kind of glad there wasn't more because the sauce was really salty. We also ordered some raw clams, which were fine - nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal was actually the shrimp roll, surprisingly - which none of us expected at all. This comes with a side of cole slaw, and I always appreciate a good side of slaw. Our waiter was probably one of the unfriendliest people we met in our entire time in Charleston. He did not look happy to be there. Maybe because we came in close to closing time, which is 9 PM? But we were in and out before then because we already came to the restaurant knowing what we'd be ordering. Overall, the experience was pretty meh. Yes, the shrimp roll was good but I don't think it's something you need to specifically seek this place out for. If you're looking for the lowcountry boil, I'm sure there are tons of better seafood spots out there.

Excellent experience all the way around! From the atmosphere to the food and to the service! We happened upon this restaurant and thought "let's give it a try". We had plans to go to another restaurant but so glad we chose here. Let me start by saying we are giving the BEST WAITER AWARD to Cory. Wonderful server! Went the extra mile on everything he did. Friendly and informative and efficient. Had lots of recommendations and even helped my date with his whole stuffed Grouper and how to work around the bones. Even took the time to write down a recipe with us for this meal as it was so delish! I highly recommend asking for Cory when you visit. You will not be disappointed! We started out with fresh, steamed oysters and then got the Mac and Lobster macaroni and cheese as an appetizer. There was plenty of lobster in this dish. Nice, big claws and not cut up mini pieces! Then it was on to lunch. I ordered the fried oysters, brussel sprouts and fried okra. All were perfect! My date's order of stuffed whole grouper was a definte "step above". It was delicious, moist and cooked to perfection and stuffed with slices of citrus and rosemary! It was a perfect ending to a wonderful weekend in Charleston! We will be back to visit you Cory!

From Walked in the door felt like it could be a 5 stars experience gradually turned to a 3 and here is why:

  1. We ordered a few types of oysters. Busser/ waiter just drop off the platter with all our oyster without telling us which is which and he got away from the table lighting fast.

  2. For a big platter of oyster and the 4 of us, there was only 1 small wedge of lemon served. Oh com’on! The place wasn’t packed when we were there and ratio of wait staff per table is high yet couldn’t even get anyone to get some lemon for the oyster. Asked one, she just walked away without saying anything- and she was not busy, she just walked to the front, doing nothing. Hospitality is even when it’s not your job, you should listen and ask your colleague to help instead of leaving your customer behind.

Management really needs to take this as a staffing risk warning. You have a beautiful property. Don’t let small things like this ruining your business. More context for you, there We’re literally 10+ staffs, and there were only...
