I ordered the lamb and at first glance, it looked good. But the lamb chops were unevenly cut (I had one super fat piece, some medium cuts and one that was all fat and no meat) and lots of gristle left on the bones as well as A LOT of fat left on all the meat. I am not a chef nor am I trained in food preparation but even I know this was subpar. ESPECIALLY FOR THE COST. My partner ordered the chicken tagine which had good flavor, however, she ran into several pieces of gristle and a bone. The hummus was really good as was the “naan” (it was pita, the server called it pita and it was clearly pita but the menu says naan) but my complaint here is you get a decent sized bowl of hummus with one cut up piece of bread … we had half a bowl of hummus left after using all the bread. We asked for another piece and got it but were charged $6 for one piece of naan. It was good but not $6 good. It was my birthday celebration so it was fun how they acknowledged it. However, the server asked to confirm it was my birthday and said “here pick something (a dessert)” so I did. It was brought out and whatnot … super fun. I would have been fine with the subpar cake (chocolate with a hard crust bottom like it had been sitting for days and some frosting on top) and a scoop of gelato, but they charged $22 for it. Definitely wasn’t worth that for old cake and a scoop of decent gelato. Plus, when a restaurant asks me to “pick something” vs. “Would you like dessert,” I don’t expect to have to pay for it.

Our server was nice and attentive when she was there but was often not seen. The restaurant was not busy at all, for the record. The atmosphere was nice and the marina views are lovely. The decor (plastic flowers) are very cheap looking. I get the practical side of using plastic vs real but it would be nice to see better quality ones for such an expensive restaurant.

Overall, service and atmosphere were decent. Food was seriously lacking. I did say something to the server about my lamb quality and she rushed to the kitchen. I expected the chef or someone from the kitchen to come out … I was wrong and this did not happen. Much later, the server apologized for the quality of the lamb. Even at cheaper, less quality restaurants, the kitchen staff (typically the chef or sous chef) come out to apologize for the food issues. I would expect more from a place like this. We saw Chef Sunil many times come out of the kitchen and chat it up with folks at the bar but he never acknowledged our table or others sitting at tables. I must emphasize that the place was NOT busy at all. There were two other tables, us and a handful of people at the bar. Even if we had not complained about food, it would have been nice to be acknowledged as patrons but I am being picky with this. Tips to St Thomas Social Club: 1- learn proper food prep - get all the bones and gristle out of chicken. Trim lamb to have clean bones, cut pieces evenly and trim the fat. Included a pic so you can see what I mean about the lamb. 2 - when cooking lamb, please learn to render the fat a bit better with what is left for flavor and moisture. That’s what gives it flavor. Un-rendered fat is gross. 3 - servers - paying active attention to tables is a huge plus and not just being super nice when you appear. 4 - kitchen staff - don’t leave it to the servers to do your dirty work and apologize for your mistakes. 5 - consider adding a little moisture and heat to your old, dry chocolate cake before serving. 6 - I forgot to say this earlier but my napkin had a visible lipstick stain on it (I didn’t even have to unfold it to see it) and I had to ask for another. The silverware and glasses on the table were covered in spots and my partner’s fork had debris on it. — during set up, pay attention to these details folks, it’s gross to sit down to this. Perhaps we should have left but we wanted to give it a shot. 7 - to Chef - take ownership and pride over your establishment. Greet your guests when you have time and not just chatting it up with staff or...

I recently dined at St. Thomas Social with a friend, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a very stressful and disappointing experience. Not only is the food overpriced for the quality you get, but there’s also a serious lack of consideration for people with allergies. My friend ordered the Butter Chicken, and nowhere did it mention that the rice included almonds. She has a severe nut allergy, and we’re always diligent about checking for allergens, so this oversight was both surprising and dangerous.

After she began having an allergic reaction, we quickly notified our server, expecting immediate concern and assistance. Instead, the manager, Dave, was dismissive and didn’t seem to understand why this was such a serious issue. His attitude added unnecessary stress to an already alarming situation. To make matters worse, they almost made us pay for her meal despite their failure to provide clear allergen information.

For a restaurant with high prices, you’d expect higher quality in both the food and the service. At the very least, there should be a clear disclaimer on the menu about possible allergens. If you or someone in your group has food allergies, I’d recommend being very cautious if you choose to dine here. Overall, we expected much more care and consideration for customer safety and left feeling incredibly...

Our Father's Day celebration at St Thomas Social was nothing short of extraordinary. The moment we walked in, we were enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The live music set the perfect tone for the evening, adding to the vibrant and lively ambiance.

The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was a delightful mix of flavors, beautifully presented and expertly cooked. It was clear that the kitchen staff puts a lot of love and attention into their creations.

What made the evening truly special was the personal touch from the chef. As we were leaving, Chef Sunil Sharma greeted us warmly, taking the time to chat and ensure we had enjoyed our meal. This level of attention and hospitality made us feel like valued guests rather than just diners.

If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, or simply want an exceptional dining experience, This is the perfect choice. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts, and we can't wait to...

If you’re ever visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands, dining at The Social is a must. The location is exceptional, offering casual dining at its finest with stunning views of the waterfront and marina. The ambiance sets the stage, but it’s the food that truly shines. Our meal was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. What truly inspired this review, though, was the outstanding service. I’ve yet to experience anything like it in the Virgin Islands. Our server, Dejanae, delivered a masterclass in customer service, turning our birthday dinner into a memorable celebration. She went above and beyond to make the evening special, and it’s an experience we’ll always cherish. I will definitely return to The Social and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience in the Virgin Islands.
