Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Park — Attraction in Charlotte Amalie

The FDR veterans park is a nice break from the city vibe that is Charlotte Amalie. It was built to remember the military veterans of the usvi and is also host to the jazz in the park festivals. If you're in st. Thomas during the summer months definitely check out one of the jazz events held here that also feature a ton of local food and arts vendors.

When our rental car broke down near here we had the time to really explore it and conveniently they have power outlets that are accessible in the ground. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be that way but it worked out perfectly for us because our phones were dying. Other than that this is a nice place to grab a boxed lunch from any restaurant nearby and enjoy nature.

Post hurricanes the government has completely cleaned up the park for the community and incoming cruise ships. It's not a bad place to chill out and relax...

The park is nice... Filled with pigeons flying around... Beautiful old trees... Looking these children's swing I am guessing how many people been with their children in the park in the last 50 years... 🤔 Mind blowing... This park represents the people of the island... I am imaging when the park just open, couples who came for a stroll holding hands for the first time... So many old folks sat on those bench watching their now grown...

Very calming. Usually empty, and full of shade on hot days. Playground for kids if you just want a relax. There is jazz in the park every year, I wish they did it often though. Over all just a lovely place to sit, cool off, and rest when you had a busy day. It is also very historical. I always recommend just enjoying the atmosphere there. Watch out for the bugs and mosquitoes though, they like to hangout...
