DON’T BUY MEAT FROM HERE! I honestly loved shopping here but, the owner sold me a piece of smoked fish that had MOLD on it! 🤮🤮🤢 I was in the middle of cooking my Banga Soup and I am so happy that I noticed it before adding it into the pot!!! I only put 2 stars because the lady was nice and kindly let me exchange my 2 purchases of smoked fish for smoked catfish. I am still disgusted and now I want to throw my whole pot away. She didn’t even say sorry or admit fault. This is disgusting and I am sad that I now have to find a new African grocery store to spend my $$ at. This is horrible because I drive all the way from across town to spend my $$ and do my business here. ✌🏾Never Again!!

Went here explicitly looking for hot food. The menu has a variety of protein options and staple favorites like jollof rice, rice n beans, fufu, etc. I ordered Jollof w/chicken and it came with plantain n cabbage. This is by far the most authentic, flavorful food I've had in charlotte since I moved here in May (2021). Drops Mic! I couldn't even take a picture of the food before I started eating because after the first fork full I fell in love and needed to quickly get better acquainted with the goodness that was in the container. This meal gave me the comfort that I've been missing.

I want to address the negative comments about the wait and price. Its true if you order on a Saturday they will say it's a 30 min wait and in reality it may be an hr and yes that is annoying especially with not much seating but patience goes a long way. This is not a fast food place or a place with huge staff please come with time to wait. Yes its true a plate here is 20 dollars with no drink and that is a bit steep. But again this is a small business they do not get huge discounts on inventory like a Wal mart and they have to import the ingredients from overseas.

This is one of my favorite places and if you come with your expectations managed that this is not an American food chain then I think you will have a good experience. This is the definition of a mom and pop shop owned by hard working people and they make the best west african hot food in Charlotte full stop. No americanized jollof on wheelz mess. There's a reason their egusi soup sells out every single Saturday. Please do not let the negative comments stop you from giving them a try and seeing for...

Today I ordered the rice and beans with spaghetti and goat/beef and plantain with the owners Son. He was very nice and polite. I waited about 25 mins for preparation. When I got home I had a whole box of fried plantain and a small container of soupy beans with a little meat. I called and spoke with the owner explaining I must've gotten the wrong order. She tells me that I ordered wrong. No ma'am I told him and pointed to what I wanted. She told me the next time I come in she'll help me order. This wasn't my first time eating here but it is my last. She didn't offer to fix this order. Why should I accept a whole box of plantain instead of real food? Customer Service is very important to me and this was not handled properly. I was cheated for $21.59. I could've purchased my own plantain and...
