Cypress Drinkery Dilworth — Restaurant in Charlotte

This is a drinking establishment. Cypress is coffee and beer and wine and spirits. No food. But they do have pool tables and televisions. It's not a fancy place - it just does what it says. This is a "drinkery" that is uncomplicated by a food menu.

This was quite awesome as our last-of-the-day stop. Friendly bartender made Mrs. K. a mocktail. I had a beer - Wooden Robot's "Good Morning Vietnam" which was on Thursday night's special.

Showed up at exactly 11:10 Friday night. Excited to walk in as a couple was dancing next to the pool table and several people sitting at the bar. Immediately the bartender jumps from behind the bar, scampers quickly towrds us and tells us they are closing and not letting anyone else in. Staff was nice, had a nice vibe and atmosphere, great selection of beer and cocktails. The drawback is that if you are attempting to be a more upscale place with craft cocktails then the cocktails have to taste good. Neither of ours did, extremely bland, and was very disappointing. There’s to much competition in the area to have 2 below average cocktails for $25. I can sit across the street at the Butcher Shoppe and get two bottles of wine for that and take home the...
