Oh, Harriet’s Hamburgers, where do I even begin?! From the moment I stepped into your vibrant, welcoming location at Optimist, I knew I was in for something special. The aroma of sizzling smash burgers and those golden, crispy fries hit me like a wave of pure joy. I’ve been raving about my experience to everyone I know, and I just had to share my love for Harriet’s here! Let’s talk about the food—pure perfection. I ordered the OG burger with a side of fries, and every bite was a masterclass in flavor. The patty was juicy, perfectly charred, and packed with that nostalgic, all-American taste that makes you feel like you’re at a summer cookout. The bun? Soft yet sturdy, holding everything together like a warm hug. And those fries—crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned just right. I’m no food critic, but I’d bet my last dollar that Harriet’s is serving up some of the best fast-casual burgers in Charlotte. My friends who joined me couldn’t stop talking about their food either - so I KNOW it wasn’t just me having the best experience! What really sets Harriet’s apart, though, is the vibe. The staff were lightning-fast, super friendly, and made us feel like regulars even on our first visit. It’s clear you all take pride in using high-quality ingredients and delivering happiness with every order, just like your website says. That kind of care doesn’t go unnoticed. I posted a quick pic of my burger on social media, and my inbox is still buzzing with friends asking, “Where is this place?!” I’m basically your unofficial ambassador now! I’m already counting down the days until my next visit. Keep doing what you’re doing, because you’ve got a lifelong fan here. Thanks for making my day with your incredible food and...
Read moreWe tried Harriet's a week ago for lunch after seeing a lot of the fanfare around their new location in The Bowl. The location itself is nicely designed, kind of has a "modern throwback" feel to it, if that makes sense.
We were greeted by friendly staff (we arrived around 11:15 so there wasn't a line). We ordered for two adults, and our order consisted of 2 Burger Royales, fries, curds, 1 side sauce (Dilly Sauce), and one drink. The total was around $36, which seemed a bit high given what we were getting. And yes, you'll be asked if you'd like to leave a tip.
We sat inside at first (there is limited indoor seating) but moved outside so that our child could play in the turf area in front of the store. The outdoor patio is nice and offers plenty of seating. There is ongoing construction nextdoor, so it might be a little noisy for a bit, but this didn't really bother us.
One thing Harriet's promotes is fast service... and that was something we didn't receive. It might have been 10 minutes before our food was delivered, but we noticed a few others who came in after us had their food brought to them. I suspected some of them ordered online ahead of time, so I kind of wrote that off.
The food - The curds are good, as well as the fries. I do wish the sauces came in a larger container - you really have to portion it out for your fries if you want to make it last... and for $1, it's a bit high in price. Our burgers seemed pretty salty. Not sure if that's normal, but it was on the edge of our taste threshold. The cheese they advertise, though, was PHENOMENAL.
Was this the best burger I've had in Charlotte? No - but I'd eat here again, albeit probably when I'm willing to spring $15-20 for a...
