Oftentimes, reviews of restaurants focus primarily on the food and service while saying very little about the atmosphere. Occasionally the lack of information on a place's "vibe" can make for a not-so-great experience.
In Charlotte for the weekend; we spent some time looking for a well rated restaurant and settled on Mezcal. The food was good. We ordered a sample platter of proteins and sides. After a long wait, everything arrived. The proteins were cooked well and deliciously seasoned. However, the sides were almost cold to the touch.

The servers were courteous and hardworking despite the circumstances, but this comes down to a lack of leadership and preparation. With proper staffing and management oversight, this could have been an excellent experience. The kitchen delivered great food; now management needs to deliver the support the staff...
