The gardens themselves are beautiful! Atmosphere is is lovely.
However, having an event here is not the easiest. I was not the one who was hosting, but my friend was. I helped her set everything up & brought everything in prior to guests arriving. When we got there the seats were dirty, they looked like they had mildew all over them. I asked if they could be wiped down and the manager Jason (I think) yelled to someone on staff "Hey! Can you wipe the seats down again, apparently they're still dirty even though we already wiped them down" I defended my ask by saying they looked like they were outside when it rained & I was able to flick dried whatever it was off of the chairs. I was also told they were stored inside- wrongo- they are stored in their outside storage pod- so yes, outside so they were mildewy.
Jason proceeded to tell me that they had them professionally assessed & they can't be cleaned anymore they are permanently like that. Which tells me, they are permanently dirty.
Then the catering arrived- which was some Publix deli looking sandwiches with no name cards so everyone had to guess what was in each sandwich. There was no cutlery, regular sized plates or the basic condiments that go with sandwiches. Then the wine that was previously selected for the menu was changed but no one informed the host. She found out by going to the bar to order wine & realized what she selected with the venue was not available so the event manager changed it to a wine that the host specifically asked to NOT have out.
The venue did not provide heating lamps, without a cost, although is a venue that is mostly outside. There was little to no light in the actual event space, the string lights & t-light candles can only do so much. The trash cans were full of trash from the last event, so we had to ask for them to be cleaned out.
As someone who works in the event & hospitality industry professionally, I might be a little picky. But my friend spent $750 + the required F&B min (which was over $1,000) on an experience that was not worth more than $500.
Was honestly disappointed on how a venue that hosts small scaled events regularly presented themselves so rudely & obviously disorganized. Which is a shame because the venue space is lovely- its everything else surrounding that made the experience...
Read moreI have been going to Rosie’s for the last few years as a Charlotte native, and have always had a pleasant experience. This weekend I hosted a bridal shower which was had 13 attendees. It was a busy day for gatherings there, and overall the event went well.
I had a very unfortunate interaction with the owner, that I personally felt could have been handled in a more professional manner. I had moved a small table to our area where our shower was happening. The owner approached me and asked for me to not do so, and I felt as though I was very apologetic and was happy to put the table back (I was not fully aware at the time of the not moving furniture request). I’m just disappointed because I felt as though him and I could have had a calm, private conversation about this, but it felt very public and reprimanding towards me. I truly love going to Rosie’s and did not have any intention of being not mindful about seating for others, but his words were stern and harsh towards a customer who was not only overly understanding and apologetic, but also purchased over $200 of wine by the end of the event.
To end on a positive note since I really do love Rosie’s and I hate to even write this review, the other staff were so accommodating and helpful. They provided great knowledge in wine selection, provided wine buckets to keep the white wines chilled, and just were overall super considerate to anything we needed. My two star review is purely a reflection of how the owner...
Read moreI have visited Rosie’s coffee & wine garden a few times. It is a cute spot that has multiple seating options, lighting, picture spots, & events. This is perfect for a date night, girls night out, or you can plan your wedding & reception here! The staff is super friendly & helpful with the menu. They have a mixture of drinks from monthly special coffees & a variety of wines from whole bottles to just glasses. For chilled wines, if you order a whole bottle they have an ice bag you can place it in to keep it cold during your stay. They have 1 bathroom on site inside near the barista bar. They have a room dedicated to art from community members that you can buy. There is even a place to buy plants but unsure if that is only on certain days or times of year. The parking is the only thing that can be a bit complicated. There are a few parking spaces right in front of the store and then driving slightly passed it there is another gravel parking lot. During peak hours it may be very busy and parking may be a bit more difficult.
Perks: You can bring your own food in! This was great considering I like to host book club. Friendly, family friendly, photo op worthy, & good drinks.
Cons: parking...
