This childrens library is so cool! It's a family enriching environment and a great blend of creative expressions. The space is huge and well designed. Aside from it being a unique library, it had interactive fun spaces (including puppet play), designated areas for specific age ranges, and a performing arts theatre. It even had a sports and console gaming area, a couple of boys were playing Fortnite the day I visited, I wanted to play with them but had to watch from the sidelines. To my surprise, the library also had a theatre collection and was excited to see monologues and scripts for plays and musicals. After flipping through scripts for Fortinbras and Charlotte's Web, I overheard the call of the next performance, Elephant and Piggies "We Are in a Play". Carpe diem, I went to the box office downstairs, got tickets and enjoyed the beautiful story about best friends and how anything is possible. Eventhough this is a children's library and I wasn't blessed with children and a family of my own, the passionate and playful kid in me was able to throughly enjoy this place...
Read moreTo whom it may concern, I have been attending the SOTT classes at Imaginon for the past year. My older sister has spent her summer working at the internship program. She has done nothing short of a great job. She was just trying to finish up her last week, and was helping set up for a production. She had nothing to do at the moment because someone had failed to give her any direction, so of course she sat on the stairs waiting for something to do. A counselor LIED on my sister to the play director saying that my sister was asleep on the stairs when she was only sitting down because she had no directions and didn't know what to do, therefore she thought she was done. The director talked to her and so very rudely told her to call our parents and leave, all for sitting down. According to my sister, the other two interns were ALSO sitting down, doing nothing. I think it is unfair and discriminatory that my sister was asked to leave while the other interns got to stay for doing the same thing. I thought very highly of imaginon until now, and i am very...
Read moreI teach children with disabilities and I took my students to 2 field trips this year to Imaginon. We saw 2 plays. Both times we had bad experiences. The first time a young couple was laughing at my students saying, "look at the sped kids". I reported it and they didn't care and acted like they couldn't do anything even after I suggested they should be removed from the library. The second time we had time to play in the library after the show and we were being followed around by staff and they were actively trying to get us to leave, by checking and letting us know our bus was outside and by telling 1/2 the staff that the other 1/2 was ready to leave (we were in separate areas of the library). It was very upsetting. I left feedback right after the second show and told them how upsetting it was and not one person got back to me to speak with me about it. I'm sad at the lack of empathy this business (a business for...
