Smoothie King — Restaurant in Charlotte

I was attempting to order an açaí bowl. Every time I order a bowl, I always get extra granola on the side, which I pay for. This morning, the white gentleman, and I use gentleman cautiously, asked 3 times about my order. When I explained what I wanted, he said: we can’t give you granola on the side. I told him I have had no problem getting granola on the side with my previous visits. He asked: “well who did that?” I told him: every person that has prepared my açaí bowl. When I asked him why, he aggressively stated: “because my manager said so!” I did not provoke him and I was very calm until he talked to me in that manner. He was rude and very condescending. There was a white woman who he served before me and he was very accommodating. I come to this store all the time but that will no longer be the case. I understand dealing with the public poses many challenges; however, I will not tolerate disrespect. I took my money and told him he’s rude. He followed up with a condescending: have a nice day! I visit moderately as I enjoy the foundation of the brand and the taste. Usually the stuff is pretty friendly, however today I didn't get that fuzzy feeling from what seem to be the manager or a lead. She seemed agitated that I asked about the new mango smoothie fest and if I could taste to verify the difference. There was another guest in line behind me and as I paid, she provided my receipt with no thank you, however, the person behind received a thank you along with please complete the survey to receive a $1 off your next visit. Ummm, is the survey only for certain guests? Whenr I viewed my receipt, what do you know, it's there but nothing from the manager to share that information. Happy...

My wife and I began Rock Box two years ago in Steele Creek. Every Friday I would reward my hard work with a visit to Smoothie King. Every Friday the young lady behind the counter(not sure of her name) would greet me with a smile and would ask if I wanted my usual. At the beginning of Covid, I began chemo treatments. I was finally able to go back to Rock Box last week and rewarded myself with a visit to Smoothie King at the end of the week.
