I have legitimately never left a bad review for a restaurant before but I was blown away at the poor quality of this food. The cheese Rangoon was dry and crumbly (honestly how do you even do that to deep fried cream cheese?) and was just that, no seasoning or anything in it. The fried rice was literally white rice they threw some soy sauce on? Like not a single veggie or egg, much less looking like it was refried. The lo mien and double fried pork were flavorless, the DF pork was supposed to be spicy but it would have had to have flavor first. The veggies were well cooked, I’ll give them that though. The egg foo young was particularly gross, a soggy mess with a gravy that seemed straight from a jar, and like, an expired one at that. The shrimp tempura was sadly the best part? And it was still not great, more like a Long John Silvers shrimp than anything. No joke I had to put it all back into a wok at home and add sesame oil, hot chilli crisp, fish oil, gochujang, and other seasonings just to make it edible and get some of the bang for my buck. Really sad considering how ordering out is already so expensive, you expect at least an edible dish. Absolutely the most dissatisfying Chinese food I’ve ever had, and I once went to that $4 Chinese buffet in Harrisonburg so that’s...
Read moreOk so this was a trip. Some of the food was amazing while other dishes were awful. My General T chicken was delicious, lo mein delicious but the fried dumplings were literally deep friend you the point they were rocks, but the inside meat was tasty. The wonton soup was horrible and the dumplings inside tasted even worse. The fried rice was fine. But the service was weird. You give them an order number not your last name. Makes sense but I haven’t done that before. I had ordered over the phone, they said 20 minutes, I arrived a little after 20 minutes and then they started making the food so I had to wait with a couple DoorDash people that they did the same thing too. I was awkward. It was after the floor part of the restaurant closed. It was dark and I was alone with like three men. Super weird. The restaurant itself is in bad shape and I don’t think I would ever eat inside the restaurant. It looked dirty and doesn’t seem well taken care off. There were stacks of things all ever the place and where they cook where you can see it looked weird and kinda dingy. I know it costs money for upkeep and it can be hard during a recession, but the carpet wasn’t even clean. I’m torn as to if I’d go...
Read moreOrdered Sesame Chicken and Shrimp with Mixed vegetables Feb 13, 2023 at about 8:30 PM ET, ordering in person.
Not familiar with CVille too much and the restaurant was closest to the Trader Joes's for Chinese. It's back by Abbot labs and two run-down looking hotels.
Food order was up in reasonable amount of time.
Quality of food was suboptimal. The chicken was barely edible.
The shrimp is breaded and not great. The broccoli looked yuck. We threw away the Shrimp and Mixed Vegetables.
Price was $31.30. Was expecting around $22 plus tax. For $31.30, we got a quality on par with what usually runs about $15 for two dishes at other places.
After ordering, observed inside the restaurant and as soon as I walked into the seating area, I was regretting the order. The carpet had not been vacuumed and the place is run down.
Order for me was a waste of $31.30 for...
