Buffy's Ice Cream Cafe — Restaurant in Chatham

I guess this place is famous because it has been here for some time, but to be honest, I was not dazzled. The local Emock & Bolio's franchise is also in town and for my money is better ice cream. The famous 'Chatham Ice Cream Bars' may have been a fun novelty at some point, but now they are mass produced and you may faint when you read the massive list of ingredients and see how many are preservatives and fillers. Also they are very sweet (too sweet), I was underwhelmed. The staff was very nice, but I sense this shop has lost it's way as a local ice cream provider and is instead just looking to sell their bars on a mass market scale. My son and his fiancee wanted something different for the dessert at their wedding. They decided on the Chatham ice cream sandwich bars sold by Buffy's. We sampled all the flavors and narrowed it down to our two favorites: The Chatham Lighthouse Bar and the Great White Bar. While the regular size bars are yummy, we decided to get the minis. Buffy's delivered the bars in a freezer and had signs to let folks know what they would be eating. Buffy’s Ice Cream is the best in Cape Cod. We’ve tried most of them, we’re pretty sure we’re right. They have a large selection of flavors but it’s not an enormous list, it’s just right. The waffle cones are fresh and delicious. The lines move pretty fast and the staff is very friendly.

One time we had a very small problem with our order, they quickly and cheerfully corrected it. They actually went above and beyond what was expected.

We spend our summers in Chatham and we save all our dessert calories...
