Just ok, barely. I had two slices, a BBQ chicken, and a veggie. The chicken slice had 2-3 very small pieces of chicken and the veggie three small slices of green peeper. I get it that meat is expensive, but veggies? I'd really expect to see a healthy portion of peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc. on a veggie slice. The crust was thin and actually in some bites tasted like saltine crackers. The inside of the place is bare bones, very little atmosphere, and the drink selection is pretty slim.
I'm kind of shocked, as the owner's other business down the street has very good burgers, the best fries in town, and a nice assortment of beers on tap, and is nicely decorated. I will try it again in a month or two to see if things have improved.
As for now, Community Pie has nothing to fear!
Amending my review, the last few pies have been very good! Ordered a 20" Big Papa last week and added some Calabrian chilies to it, very nice! Changing my review to five stars, SSP is now in our rotation of favorite South Side restaurants.
Visited again over the weekend, the Big Papa pie...
Read moreI'm visiting family here, I'm from NYC and not easily impressed by pizza from other states. This pizza was so good I had to ask the cashier if they were from NYC as well. He laughed and said "no if you can hear my accent, I was born and raised here". We both shared a laugh and he told me the bosses were trained by NYers on how to make pizza. And to me that training was worth whatever they paid for it. My son who's from NY as well says hes been coming here for a few years now. I for sure will add this to our list of places to eat when I come visit. We ordered a half cheese and half special. Which consisted of pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions, cheese, basil. And it was amazing. I wish the pizza was a tad bit thicker. But that's my personal opinion. Its great nonetheless. Staff were very friendly and stayed busy for a normal Wednesday evening. Keep up the...
Read moreI'm pretty sure they have the Largest Pizza's in Chattanooga. At least the largest I've seen anywhere. They make their own pizza sauce. It's a cute, kinda hippie themed little pizza joint. They have outside dining with the cute hanging lights. I like the graffiti art on the outside walls. The employees are very friendly. They do serve beer. I'm not sure about the variety of beers available, but they have a few choices. The inside was decorated really cool too. Lots of interesting things on the walls. If you're a pizza lover this is a definite must visit place. Its conveniently located downtown close to many new townhouses and other new and upcoming housing & business establishments. It's close to the train track. They have where you can build your own pizza. Just choose which toppings you want, if sharing your pizza with a friend you can make a half...
