This is my first ever Google review, I feel compelled to tell others about the amazing unexpected experience that my wife and I had last night. She and I decided to try state of confusion because of a recommendation from one of her friends. The very first thing I noticed was the kindness of the staff. The second was the amazing atmosphere. The menu had several delightful options, naturally we had many questions. This was not a problem to our server Miller. In fact I think as the kids say nowadays," he understood the assignment" haha but seriously, his personality Amplified the positive experience that my wife, of 25 years, and myself enjoyed immensely! Miller, was very attentive ,not only to his service to us but also I felt as if he gave suggestions because he knew what we would enjoy. That takes skill from a server, in my own opinion. He had suggested the appetizer and entrees, I could not have done any better myself making the choice. I value his opinion and knowledge of the food they serve. Now I would like to speak about the entrees. At first sight, the presentation was above and beyond what I would imagine, and we have been subjected to some self-proclaimed "fancy" and or exotic places to eat, state of confusion restaurant does not have to boast themselves .as they say the proof is in the pudding. And the intent for my review is to reach someone who enjoys a fantastic experience with absolutely delicious food and the feel of being accepted and free to have a pleasant evening. We were blown away by the quality ingredients alone. We had both ordered different variations of steaks and I don't think we have enough time for me to tell you how much we thoroughly enjoyed not only the cut of meat the flavor from the marinades but also the careful selection of the side items that perfectly complimented the dish. This is one you will have to try for yourself and believe me, it will be worth the time to go there. Everything was cooked to perfection and arranged beautifully! The culmination was our server Miller, he was more like a guide. I believe his experience and attention to detail was the key point for my wife and I to enjoy a marvelous evening and I do not use those words lightly. When we have an experience such as this we like to share with others not to brag but to give the credit to the restaurant and the personalities that make this a perfect spot to enjoy a good evening. Sincerely thank you for making everything extraordinary! ...

Read moreThis is my updated review for State of Confusion. I took one star off my previous 5 star review for reasons that will become clear. First off, I love the food here and the menu is eclectic, with Peruvian and Southern dishes. The ambiance inside and out is fantastic with heated igloos outside, fire pits, heated covered seating, and an indoor dining room. Service was good tonight, as it has been on previous visits. Now for the issues. I came for my birthday celebration with friends for the second year in a row, and for the second year in a row we froze. We've sat inside both times. Last year we were placed by the back door, which opened and closed with a blast of cold air each time. This year we were placed directly in line with the open front door, which I had to ask twice to be closed, not only to keep us from freezing, but to keep our food warm. Again, every time the front door opened, a blast of cold air. I'd think they'd figure out some way to keep patrons and food warm, like erecting a temporary entry tent outside to keep wind out. Many restaurants do this. The other issue I had was making a reservation. I tried making an online reservation for a party of 6, but I kept getting a message that there were no tables available, yet if I did a party of 2 or 4, there were. I finally called the restaurant to make the reservation. While we were there tonight the restaurant was far from full so I should have easily been able to make that reservation online. Another minor annoyance is that two of us in the group wanted to drink hard cider and there was none in the restaurant, not even bottled. With cider being a big craft movement now, I'd think they'd have something bottled if not on tap. Overall, I'd come back, but I'll leave if I'm seated at another table near a door...
