The place is cool, I drove down from Nashville, because one of my newly discovered favorite bands LA Guns was playing with Tom Kiefer (August 8) and in knowing and being friends with 3/5 band members I was able to have one of them get me on the list so I could see them for the second time in a week and maybe get a little more time to chat and hang out with said band member because he knew it meant a lot to me. I know that they love to meet fans too, so I don’t expect the whole time to get undivided attention from my friends in the band the whole time. Regardless, my friend in LA Guns I’m closest with was going to come back out at the end of everything and so I was waiting between the merch and main room to catch him. Within probably 20 minutes of the show ending the venue staff was forcing people out, there was one particular person with staff who was very condescending in the way that she said my wrist band didn’t count for being with the band. Then she rushed and almost seemed annoyed at me when I was trying to ask a crew member I had just met and quickly became friends with after meeting him in Nashville a few days prior, if he could help me touch base with the band member that made me being at the show possible.
I’m thankful I didn’t have to pay to be treated so rudely at the end of the concert but some of your staff needs to learn some better customer service and learn that there are there are bands they will have play who are very fan oriented and enjoy getting to talk to their fans, knowing not every fan can afford M&G, and treating the fans like some of the staff did isn’t cool. Especially coming from a perspective of a fan who hangs with and becomes good friends with bands that are very fan oriented.
The audio at one point during the LA Guns set was clipping, and it was not great.
Unless it’s the only show in a 3 hour radius I probably won’t attend a show here again because some of the staff was so rude.
Only reason I gave 2 stars is because a security guard down on stage left picked up a guitar pick to hand to me, that didn’t make it past the barricade and then asked about it as I was leaving and was super excited got to help me...
Read moreI recently went to a concert at The Signal for the first time. The venue itself is great. It's that perfect small concert size, the bathrooms are clean and clearly marked, the bars are right there with you in the GA area, and the bar has cups and containers of tap water sitting at the end of the bar counter for self-service. For ME, however, the highlight of my experience was the staff. I'm disabled and use a medical alert service dog. Concert venue staffs can often be pretty ugly about it, but The Signal staff was fantastic. The manager, SCOTT, was incredibly kind and helpful. The ADA seating section (which is by the stage, btw) was too close to a stack of speakers to be safe for my service dog's ears (she wears noise-reducing headphones to concerts, but they don't cancel out all the noise). Scott walked around the venue with us to figure out the ideal place for me to be seated while abiding by the safety needs of the venue. He had staff bring in 2 barstools and a table and taped a reserved tag with my name on it onto the table. He pointed out the water at the nearby bar and asked if I had a bowl for my service dog, which I did. Scott frequently checked on me and my service dog in passing on his way to take care of his millions of manager duties. On top of Scott being wonderful, the staff in general was great. When my service dog alerted me and I had a medical condition episode, the staff gave my service dog space to do her job without distraction or interference. I cannot thank them enough for giving me that respect.
Pics of my service dog, my view standing, and my view seated. If you're looking for noise-reducing headphones for your dog, these are from Amazon and the brand is Elite K9....
Read moreThe BEST venue in Chattanooga. I’ve been to many shows here and I have not one complaint. Not a lot of venues have readily available water stations on tap by the bar, but The Signal does. There’s not a bad seat in the house, standing or sitting. The detail of this venue was well thought out giving it a very ‘Chattanooga’ look. Not a lot of venues have food, but Daddy’s Dogs from Nashville are there to satisfy your hangry/hungry needs. The staff here is one of a kind. The production crew is solid. The bartenders are incredibly friendly and accommodating. And Nolan (the manager) keeps the place running with the utmost professionalism and he has fun doing it! If you don’t like standing, get seats for upstairs and you’ll get service with an incredible view. Parking? There’s a parking garage right beside it making it easy for y’all who Google what the parking situation is beforehand. This venue is located by a lot of fun, local places you can grab a beer or food at before they open the doors. All in all, if you’re stopping through Chattanooga and are looking for something to do… see a show here. If you saw a band saying they’re coming through Chattanooga and you’ve never been, do it....
