My friends and I came here to finish our bachelorette weekend before heading home. Parking was super easy, and the patio to walk in was so cute. We made reservations, which I would recommend as I witnessed a handful of tables being asked to come back later because they were already full up right when they opened. When we walked in, our waitress was waiting for us and had the cutest table already set for us. She was personable and sweet, and very helpful with our questions. The decor was so cute and elegant, and we felt like VIPs. Upon opening the menu, the prices were reasonable, and reading every dish made me salivate. I was craving an Eggs Benedict, but I don't eat seafood. I hate being that person to ask for any substitutions or changes, but I decided to ask. No crab, sub ham and avocado. Our server was happy to be accommodating, and said that she would ask the chef. She quickly came back to let me know that the chef was happy to make me their own version of a more traditional Eggs Benedict. The part that particularly impressed our group is that the chef came out to talk to me about my dish specifically to ensure that it was exactly what I wanted. When our food came out, the smell that filled the room was mouth-watering. I'm a firm believer that you feast with your eyes first, and boy did they! Everything was plated intentionally and looked incredible. The quality was clear as the flavor was perfect. I loved every bite as the avocado was fresh and velvety, the ham lightly crisped, the roll was fluffy yet toasted, and the egg was cooked to perfection. The only downside is that now I think I'm ruined for Eggs Benedict, and will have to drive 3.5 hours to get this perfect dish again. As a restauranteur and foodie, I was extremely impressed with The Bistro at Lake Chelan. Thank you for a beautiful dining experience that I look forward to...
Read moreAfter reading all the reviews I was thinking the food would be outstanding, but it was just mediocre. I ordered a glass of rose, which lacked balance and flavor. We started off with one of their salads, but it was just a bunch of snacks on lettuce you couldn’t possibly eat with a fork, including whole dried apricots, almonds and sour blackberries. The citrus vinaigrette was too mild to go with the water soaked lettuce. Some bread to go with the salad would have been nice, but of course you have to pay for that these days too. I ordered the grilled yellowfin tuna, which was a bit on the dry side and my wife ordered the chicken sandwich with “pomme frites”. The sandwich was nothing special and frites resembled fries from a diner. While the ambiance could be nice, every table inside is located by a door or walk way, so you’re constantly keeping your elbows in and scrunched to your table, least you get clipped by the staff walking by. Our table was right by a side door that servers used every three minutes, allowing me to be blinded by the sun and heat. We wanted to like this place, but after paying over $100 to get out the door, it just didn’t...
Read moreNot family friendly! We included our child in the guest count when we made our reservation. When we showed up to the restaurant we were told they didn’t have space for our stroller, no big deal, we were happy to fold it up and store. However then they said they didn’t have high chairs or boosters. The servers said multiple times that it would be better if we brought in our car seat… I don’t think she understands the logistics of a toddler car seat. When we said we would eat somewhere else the server decided they could make the stroller work. We were not given a kid’s menu and I assume they don’t have one.
The food was delicious! Every thing we had was amazing, but the crab cakes were to die for!
At the end of the meal the server thanked us for keeping our child quiet. While she meant it in a kind way, it just really goes to show that they do not want children in...
