Though I have enjoyed Sybergs in the past for their shark. I not sure I will recommend this location as better than average.I am a person who has to be Gluten free for medical reasons. They don't have any Gluten Free markings on their menu. They have a seafood salad with Shrimp and 'Crab' on the menu . Not real crab from a crabshell. No it is the fake crab Surnami from Japan with wheat in it.So it is basicly badly miss-listed on the menu. You can have them hold the croutons. But ask them to only use shrimp on your salad and hold the croutons. When the crab wasn't real crab. And I ordered and ate this I was sick for three days had blisters up my ankles from Autoimmune gluten sensitivity. I called when I got better and told them I wasn't going to sue them. Though I could of easily. I was calmer on the phone than they deserved . Given the circumstances.I wanted to let them know the problem.I didn't want anyone in my position or.anyone with Celliac to get sick or worse. I was somewhat blown off on the phone by a youngish female who took my call. "Oh well we're sorry". She didn't sound it. "We will send you a gift card.Ok?" I got the gift card today for $20. But I am going to stick to getting a piece of grilled shark with salt and pepper. But getting a gift card as sort of a 'token consolation prize' was not the point really . They did keep their word. That is positive. Still the young woman I talked to didn't seem to be concerned this was a serious health hazard. So FYI Chesterfield Sybergs does maybe need to instruct staff better in how to handle Questions about Gluten Free menu items.I would really like the menu to reflect that Fake crab is being used and it contains wheat gluten.Or this: There is a brand of Crab flavored Surnami which is Gluten free. Please switch over to it. I remember the exact brand 'OceanWave' and 'gluten free' on the label. I really really hope the Managers and Owners of the Chesterfield Sybergs see this review. And change their menu. Or start using Gluten free Crab flavored Surnami. For the seafood salad it is only slightly more expensive maybe a dollar a pound more. And state that it is Crab flavored Surnami truthfully on the menu. A menu is not a place for 'fictional' writing. Being Gluten Free is not a 'fad' for some of us. I gave you a three star average rating. Because of what happened. That is really the best I can do for now. But at least I will give the Chesterfield location a second chance. And you haven't lost. this customer yet. Like I said I will stick to the grilled shark at Sybergs from now on And get my real...
Read moreWe went on a Saturday at 12:30 which we anticipated would be busy. We had a party of 7 and called at 11 to make them aware we'd be there, and was acknowledged by the person who answered. Once there, 3 young women at the counter said no one called and they don't take reservations. They did not offer to check with a Supervisor, just insisted we did not call because we didn't get a name. They did not understand what calling ahead meant. They were snide, made faces and spoke rudely behind particular patron's backs in clear view and earshot of all who were in the lobby, all while looking exacerbated. (A photo event with the Easter Bunny increased the crowd). After a 45 minute wait, we were seated. Quite a few people cancelled their check in and left when wait times were doubling what was estimated by the hostesses. At this point, our experience was a complete turnaround. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, quick and accurate. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. I had grilled chicken and shrimp that was juicy and delicious. I cannot eat spicy foods so the server recommended Teriyaki sauce and it was perfect. Others in our party enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and pizza. They enjoyed both. The quesodilla was a bit greasy. Salads were large and fresh. My recommendation would be to go at a slower time if trying it out for the first time as we did but our overall experience was positive aside from the Hostesses which, as a business professional, I feel are the face of the establishment and set the tone for the experience. Hopefully management will address this and reconsider their choice...
