Brewery: Adams Street Brewery City: Chicago IL Brewed on premise: Yes Number of taps: 14 Number of bottles/cans: 0 Guest Beer: No Bar seating: 23 Table seating: Yes Patio: No Beer garden: No Food: Yes also Berghoff Restaurant Food Trucks: No Dogs Allowed: No Televisions: 3 in bar Beer to go: Yes Liquor: Yes full bat Wine: Yes Tony: Yes Why would I come back: With a history stretching back to 1870, and being boistered by the Chicago World Fair having a pint at The Adams Street Brewery in the Berghoff Restaurant is a must stop for beer and history lovers. Extensive list of beers with a focus on German Styles, but really something for everyone (even an award winning juicy IPA). Great food in a beautiful restaurant with plenty of old country feel. Beautiful large wood bar is warming and welcoming when you need to duck in from the bitter wind. Beers are tasty and you will not be disappointed you stopped...

I’m not sure why the Berghoff renamed this section of their establishment, but in any case... this place has gotten progressively worse in recent years.

On my most recent visit at 1:30 on a weekday afternoon, the bartender (bald headed with a beard and tattoos) didn’t speak a word - He simply handed me the beer list and menu and I had to get his attention to place each order (beer and then food). The beer was the best part of this trip, though it wasn’t overly impressive. The turkey and brie panini was the worst sandwich I’ve ever had, and it was prepared with zero f*s given as the contents were stacked high in the center and there was about 2” on either half with no contents. Though I’m no expert on paninis, every one I’ve had in the past has been pressed flat and is warm - mine was not.

I was given the bill for $23.67. I gave the man $24 and he said I only gave him $23 while still holding my $20 bill and four $1 bills. So I gave him an extra dollar - enjoy...

Walking back to our hotel we ran into Adams Street Brewery and decided to grab a small bite to eat and a few beers. Sat at the bar and we were quickly welcomed by the bartender. Don't remember your name but you had an awesome beard - thanks for the great service. We ordered the potato pancakes to start. No joke, the best potato pancakes I've ever had. The crispy pancakes are topped with bacon/apple amazingness that makes you just want to sit there and cry of happiness. They seriously should consider bottling that stuff and selling it. Also had the pierogies - they were pan crispy on the outside and deliciously smooth on the inside. The arugula salad that comes on the side is also very good. Before I forget, they had live music too - something I missed so much after this quarantine period we've all had to endure. Long story short - just go here and drink and eat, you will be...

Having visited the Chicago Federal Reserve a little earlier, seeing all that money had made us very thirsty. So we were very pleased to find the Adams Street brewery attached to the Berghoff Restaurant. We made our way to the bar and tried some of the German styled draft beers available. The barman seemed to be worked on his own - he was quick, efficient and very professional. Not much time for chatter but we had some serious drinking to do. I tried the ASB What Duh Helles Lager, followed by the ASB Hubert's Hefeweizen while my cousin stayed with a couple of pints (16oz) of ASB Ahh Vienna lager. In this part of the establishment there seemed to be only a few restrooms given the main objective here is drinking. But OK.
