As this being my first time coming to this location, I decided to ordered the Brisket and Shrimp Tacos. and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint, the flavor was unique and new at the same time. Each taco was carefully crafted with care, fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the flavor combinations are truly unique that are sure to delight your taste buds. The brisket taco, with its tender meat and bold flavors, is a particular standout, it comes with cilantro, cheese and grilled onions. But the winner was the shrimp taco, which is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, it had Elote style cauliflower. basil avocado salsa and fried kale. Read moreI ordered the beef brisket burrito, chicken al pastor taco and carnitas taco along with cucumber mint water and lemonade.
The beef brisket burrito was filling, meat was tender, but it was spicy so beware. Flavor wise, it was just okay. It did come with a side of thin crispy chips seasoned with tajin which I really enjoyed.
The chicken al pastor was my favorite well flavored and went really great with the pineapple pieces they mixed in. Highly recommend.
The carnitas taco was just okay it came with a piece of bacon and was basically bbq pulled pork.
I docked a star bc the wait time was very long even though nobody was there when we ordered.
I docked a second star bc the cucumber mint refresher tasted purely like mint and hardly any cucumber flavor which I disliked. My bf ended up drinking it. The lemonade was disappointing, way too sugary/sweet they should have diluted it a bit more.
Overall, the presentation of the food was nice. Parking is limited to 3-4 spots. The patio/deck has ample seating and nicely decorated.
Will I return? Probably not, I did not like the long wait time for food and I really only enjoyed the Al pastor taco. I might consider returning if they add chicken al pastor burrito to their menu bc it was...
Read moreUpdate to my last review that I gave 9 months ago which was five stars. I recently went back to the restaurant on Saturday and there were definitely some changes to the menu and the atmosphere. I still enjoy the service. No issue there. However the food quality is not where it used to be. I ordered the al pastor chicken and garlic shrimp tacos. The al pastor chicken taco was decent but the garlic shrimp taco was not that good. I didnt like the changes from the original shrimp taco which had the kale on it and now it had onions and corn on it which was not a good combination. The shrimp was definitely not as good as I remembered either. I also had the chips with queso dip. The queso dip was okay. Please bring back the original queso dip. In fact bring back the chorizo chili. That was remarkable with the chips. I know you are trying to move forward with a different menu than the wicker park restaurant but I think the flavors for the food you originally had at the wicker park location is what made the restaurant a nice spot to hang out for...
