I have been here many times when I visit Chicago as I often stay at a hotel down the street. I came in today to get some work done before a call and have some coffee and breakfast. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and latte for inside the restaurant. I took a seat and found that their Wi-Fi does not work. When I asked about this, they said it is a known issue and they are working on it. I said okay and returned to my seat. I then noticed a blonde girl with glasses behind the counter give me a not-so-great look by posing this question.
So, I am using my phone as a hotspot in a coffee shop so be it. I then get a sandwich which is not what I ordered (was missing avocado which is an add on you pay extra for). They then tell me that they can't put that on the sandwich they made but only the breakfast sandwich. I simply said I ordered the breakfast sandwich. They said oh and apologized and gave me a refund as they thought I ordered lunch at 9AM for some reason with my latte. All is well. I said thank you and went back to my computer.
When I go up to pick up the sandwich the "manager" a blonde girl with glasses (the one from earlier that gave me a not so flattering glance for asking about the Wi-fi) tells me that she doesn't appreciate my tone with her employees. I said "okay, please explain as I did not raise my voice." She raised her hand and walked away towards the kitchen. The lady/customer behind me literally said.."Wow!"
As a CEO I see this issue with this generation all too often. If she thinks I mistreated her employees by answering questions and pointing out mistakes that they made to help them correct them she is going to have a very tough time in the real world after working in a coffee shop. I would not be at the professional level that I am at if I was unprofessional to a bunch of kids. I never even raised my voice. My tone was conversational, and I said very little. I simply answered questions. If she wants to challenge someone, she needs to have the courage to back it up and have an adult conversation and be professional herself. You don't raise your hand like that and walk away from a customer after calling them out. Although her intentions may have been genuine her in her mind, her conduct made a below average customer experience into a very bad one, and not to just me, but those who witnessed her. Customer experience is everything in business and the Blue Bottle Coffee in Chicago has some...
Read moreMy recent visit to Blue Bottle Coffee in Chicago was a delightful experience that left me craving more. Nestled in the heart of the city, this charming coffee shop offers a unique twist on your daily caffeine fix.
I couldn't resist trying their signature Sweet Latte, and I must say, it was a pleasant surprise. The balance of espresso's rich, bold flavors with a subtle sweetness created a harmonious blend that danced on my taste buds. The sweetness was not overpowering, allowing the coffee's natural notes to shine through, making it a perfect choice for those who prefer a touch of sweetness in their coffee.
The attention to detail in brewing and presentation was evident. The latte art on my cup added a touch of elegance to my beverage, demonstrating the barista's skill and commitment to their craft.
The minimalist and inviting ambiance of the coffee shop made it an ideal place to enjoy my latte. It's the perfect spot for a quiet moment of reflection or catching up with a friend over a cup of expertly crafted coffee.
While the Sweet Latte stole the show for me, I couldn't help but notice the intriguing selection of single-origin beans and pour-over options on the menu. It's clear that Blue Bottle Coffee takes pride in offering a diverse coffee experience beyond just the usual offerings.
In conclusion, Blue Bottle Coffee in Chicago is a must-visit for coffee aficionados and anyone seeking a unique coffee experience. Their Sweet Latte, with its perfect blend of flavors, left a lasting impression. Read moreThis is the type of eclectic coffee shop YOU must visit when you see it, the iced NOLA (New Orleans) is superb! Simply the best. Yea yeah is pricey, but as WB says, price is what you pay, value is what you get; this is not McDonald's Sir/Madam. The pastries are good enough to rhythm with the coffee, cool they give you the waffle wrapped it in a coffee filter.
The thing I like the most if the diversity of the drinks, they are different from other places (like the Vanilla saffron NOLA), the problem: the drinks rotate, and you never see them again, like the Orange NOLA or Cardamon Latte, etc. Music tends to be indie/enigmatic (but, still... sometimes they play reggaeton, lol). They cool highchairs (which they don't have in the Michigan Av. location) and some chairs are nice, others are like hard, but wishing the laptop people will get uncomfortable, maybe. It gets crowded with folks working on laptops or people with coffee-office, but the view compensates (glad they removed the big sign that was covering the big front window); even better when there is outside seating.
Staff is good now, thanks for stopping the yelling when the place would close it was annoying when some ex yield to our faces "ATTENTION CUSTOMER, THE TIME IS NOW 5:30, AND WE ARE CLOSING IN 30 MINS!" (it was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional and not ad-hoc with the spirit of the place.
Be aware, they close 1 toilet, and have only 1 available before 30 mins to close.
Este lugar es buenisimo, debes visitarlo y probar el...
