Unfortunately this was simply put a let down: Style over substance to sum it up.
In detail: Went with a group of four, on a Saturday evening, all the touristy spots around the area were packed, this was pretty empty - as it shows for a reason. Music was blasting all across the room while we were eating. No conversation whatsoever was possible. Tunes were hectic, good for the bar - bad for people dining. The waiter on service, however nice a person would best be described as undertrained. Invading the private space of the guest on multiple occasions, inattentive to the wishes to order or to get glasses of water refilled. The only good thing to mention is that the allergies at the table were taken into account...
Food was ... Okay, as in stable but unsurprising. Our table had a wild mix of the "inspired" sushi with mostly underwhelming reactions. I personally tried the guacamole with tuna and chips. Basically nice enough, but overpriced for the result. Lacking acidity to counter some of the other ingredients. The added chili's had little to no punch. Worst of all: gratuity was already included in the final check. For $190 for four persons as final count there are far more better options around.
Suggest: either turn down the music and train staff and kitchen up a bit, or do the sensible thing and turn into a bar specialized in fancy drinks and a few but improved...
Read moreWalk-ins only and I am SO happy I did! Even if you aren't staying at the IC, this is a must do! It is so cute and intimate. The food and drinks are amazing with over the top service. I sat at the bar as a solo traveler and Kaylee could not have been nicer. I travel almost weekly all over the world and I can easily say she's the best I have had in years. She was so kind and even though I ordered the table side fajitas, she made sure there was enough room at the bar for that experience and even offered to reheat the stone since I'm the slowest eater. The stone was plenty hot and I didn't need that but to have her remember or even check was so thoughtful.
She was being inundated by another guest at the bar but juggled everything with ease. There were a few times I would have lost my patience with a guest on his 20th question but she did everything with a smile and even though it was near the end of the night she was still super nice and helpful to everyone.
The food (lobster tacos and skirt steak fajitas) were delicious and I definitely recommend both! I was worried it would be too much food but I hadn't eaten all day and the tacos are small by delectable. I could not recommend this entire experience, especially if you are lucky enough to have Kaylee.
Edit: only two tacos in the photo even though there were three. They were so yummy I ate one...
Read moreI had a TERRIBLE experience at Casa Chi. We went during our lunch break, placed our order, and every table around us received their food while we waited 45 minutes without even getting our first course. Since we were running out of time, we had to change our order to sushi rolls to go, because we needed to get back to work.
When we asked for the check, the server took even longer, and we actually had to get up from the table just to get someone’s attention so we could pay. In the end, we paid over $100 for two drinks and takeout, which is RIDICULOUS considering we didn’t even get to eat there.
I understand food can take time when a restaurant is busy — but the place wasn’t busy at all. We were one of the first tables to be seated, and several tables that arrived after us got their food before we did. That makes absolutely no sense.
What made it worse was the manager’s COMPLETE INDIFFERENCE when we explained the situation. We ended up going back to work after our one-hour break without eating anything.
It’s a shame, because the food is good and I had been there before with better experiences, but this time the service was so bad that I won’t be coming back or recommending this place. A TOTAL...
