Today I came in super hungry and really looking forwarding to eating a pita sandwich I had years ago from a Nandos that was so good ! I was sat at a table right away by a nice gentlemen (Tyrek) and he gave me a menu . I didn’t remember the name of the sandwich but I thought I knew which one it was that I ordered so long ago . So I ordered the Peri Chicken Pita & Peri Mac . Whewww that Peri Mac was so good I must of finished it in seconds! I bit in the Pita sandwich and was instantly disappointed . Not because anything was wrong with the pita sandwich itself but it wasn’t hitting like the one I had long ago . I mentioned it to Tyrek when he came to check how the food was tasting and he went to get the manager . I didn’t want to make it a big deal , but I also didn’t want to pay $16 on just Mac and cheese . So the manager (Darrius ) came and I explained that nothing was wrong with the pita sandwich itself it just wasn’t the sandwich I had a while back that was so good , after describing the sandwich to him he knew exactly the name of the sandwich and apologized that it was discontinued , and offered to make me another pita sandwich but with chicken breast instead of the chicken thighs . I was so happy and his energy was still great , he didn’t seem irritated or bothered! And that meant a lot because I already felt bad that I was saying something… when he bought that pita sandwich to me and I bit into it I damn near fell out!!!! I was in heaven it was the sandwich I’ve been craving this whole time !!!! Perfect amount of sauce , chicken breast cut in great portions , crunchy lettuce and red pepper !!!! Thanks a lot Darrius , for remaining positive and with a smile and going the extra mile because you did not have to do what you did ! Especially when it was my fault! You made my lunch experience great!!! I will be back for sure and now I know what to order !!!! Also From the time I was seated to the time I left out the door Tyrek was back and fourth working , cleaning , checking in with customers , and serving . 🤙🏼😁 He...
Read moreGood place for our small group lunch. We were having trouble deciding where to go and a coworker suggested this spot. I had not previously been here but when he said chicken and spicy I was ready to go. When you come in, they'll give you menus to review if you need them and then you step up and order. We were eating in so they assigned a table and they take your table number when you order. then if you have a drink you can go to one of the soda machines (one up front and one in the back) and fill up then find your table and take a seat. They'll bring out your dish when it's ready. The front seems a bit packed, but there is additional space (and restrooms) towards the back. I had the chicken breast sandwich with Mango & Lime sauce - yeah not the spiciest selection but for some reason Mango and Lime was speaking to me! The sandwich comes cut in two and seemed a bit small. I had a side of fries which I thought were a bit too salty. All in all, it was filling though. The taste of the sandwich was also good and I would not have a problem returning here for another lunch. I'd have to try the other sauces as they have "non-spicy", the flavors of Mango & Lime and there's another I can't remember now that have a very faint kick, Medium, hot and burning (I can't remember what they call them, but it's on the menu and you have bottles of it near the drink machines so you can sample them). Sandwich, Fries and refillable drink with tax total is 12.82. Not too bad for a downtown sit down lunch. Friends had the wrap (looked like a good size) and various chicken plates with rice. Everything looked good and the only complaint was one of our group was given a "cloudy" glass - needless to say she returned it and got another...
Read moreMy partner had been waiting Nandos since we came to Chicago and he saw there were locations here. I gave in and we walked into the location. We went up the stairs and waited at the sign that says "please wait to be greeted and seated." An employee walked by and made eye contact with me so I know he saw my partner and I were waiting. He did not greet us, but he saw we were there and that we were the only people waiting. As we continued to wait, another patron came in and walked in front of me. I attempted to move back in front of him to indicate that I was there already and waiting to be seated. The employee walked by again and said to both myself and the other patron that he would be back in a moment to seat us. When he came back, he seated the other man first. When it was made clear that my partner and I had already been there waiting, he did not apologize and instead continued to seat the other man. I realize that mistakes happen, but restaurants operate on a first come first serve basis, and it is unacceptable to allow patrons who have been waiting patiently in the designated area for patrons who cannot read a simple sign and follow simple societal rules. To me, it shows that this establishment does not value my time and my willingness to follow the directions set up by the restaurant. My partner did not want to eat here any longer, but I did not want a rude patron or an inconsiderate/inattentive employee ruin my meal. We did order and eat here, but I do not plan to return if we are in the vicinity again unless my partner really, really wants to. I value when an establishment pays attention, and the fact that the employee was unfazed by the way he treated my partner and I indicates...
