Goddess and the Baker is a unique, health-conscious, artisan bakery, juicery café and coffee shop with gluten-free an vegan pastry options.

I got a morning glory muffins which tasted good. I’d like to pause from my muffin assessment to point out that there is an entire menu section called “liquid chocolate”. I don’t really have anything else to say about the muffin.

There were several different coffees on their coffee board including drips, and pour-overs. I had the Jumpstart Chicago Brothers after asking for the boldest tasting thing. It was OK. Definitely a little acidic for my tastes and not as strong as I would’ve liked.

My wife had a Ginger Pineapple Tonic from the juice menu which tasted a whole lot of pineapple without having without much of the other juices that were supposed to come with it coming through (including cucumber orange coconut water and ginger.) The juice presentation was really kind of extraordinary with all kinds of leaves, stalks and flowers shooting out of the top. It’s almost worth getting a juice, even if it didn’t taste great, just to see one.

They were out of oatmeal (which my wife wanted) so they offered anything else on the menu as a replacement (which was awfully nice). My wife got the granola which she thought was tasty and satisfying.

She also got green jasmine tea from there somewhat extensive tea menu, which she thought was floral and tasty. There were lots of things on the menu which would have suited our separate vegetarian and gluten free diets, like breakfast sandwiches, toasts salads, other sandwiches, and many other baked goods and types of drinks we didn’t get to try. We definitely would come back and try a lot more from this menu with particular attention in the future paid to the liquid chocolate menu.

I wish our server, or the person who took our order was a little bit more about what was going on, she had trouble making a coffee recommendation…she said she didn’t drink coffee and got confused when I asked if I could have my coffee in a mug (as opposed to in a paper cup). She also took the touchpad away before I could select the type of receipt I wanted and she made a selection for me.

They also serve alcohol, and three different types of water on tap… Room temperature distilled call distilled and bubbly distill. So in the end it wasn’t a perfect experience…but it was an intriguing enough place with many many options that would definitely have us give it another shot. (haha,...

I just left this place and I would definitely not go again neither recommend to anyone. First of all service is slow. The cashier was very nice though, I asked for the recommendation because I couldn’t decide if I want chocolate croissant or cinnamon bun. I went with chocolate croissant in the end, she offered me to heat it up, which I thought might be a good idea. First very unpleasant surprise - I wasn’t able to pay by cash. I wasn’t happy about that at all, but okay. (By the way I quickly realised why they don’t have any price tags beside baked goods 🤦🏻‍♀️). She told to wait on the side to call my name. After 10 minutes of waiting I went to ask how long does it take to heat one croissant for take away. So apparently the croissant was already ready and getting cold for god knows how long. Nobody called my name and even if they did and I didn’t hear (because inside is VERY loud (so maybe the system with calling people’s name is not the wisest one 🙄), nobody cared that is getting cold there. They offered me to heat it again, which I was bit shocked, because if you know something about baking, you wouldn’t ever even think of that, let alone say it. So I refused, took my croissant and left. Thank god I tried it right there. Apart from absolutely no taste of the dough, you could taste the croissant was OLD and not even all heating of the world would save it. It made me furious because for almost 8$!!! I expected at least FRESH croissant if not tasty one. But this was worst than a grocery store frozen croissant for 1/5 of the price. I immediately went back, told them it tastes old, asked when it was baked and they told it’s batch from YESTERDAY. Excuse me, but if you want to charge 7.81$ for a croissant it’s absolutely unacceptable to sell it even one day old. First learn how to make them, how to store them, “treat” them and figure out better system. I’ve got refunded and left. No, no, no. If Americans think this is a good pastry, I feel really...

I stopped by Goddess and the Baker on a Monday morning, expecting a quick bite and a caffeine fix but what I walked into was much more than a bakery; it was a warm, buzzing oasis that turned an ordinary morning into something magical. Despite being fairly busy for the start of the week, the energy inside was comforting and lively, like a café straight out of a dream where every pastry is perfect and every sip of hot chocolate feels like a hug.

I ordered a hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant, and I truly cannot overstate how incredible both were. The croissant was hands-down the best I’ve ever had and I don’t say that lightly. I’ve often wondered what really defines the perfect chocolate croissant. Is it the flaky exterior, the subtle notes of butter and salt, or the rich, velvety chocolate within? At Goddess and the Baker, they’ve somehow captured all of it in one bite.

The croissant had a beautifully golden, crisp crust that shattered gently with each touch, revealing soft, buttery layers inside. The chocolate was deep and smooth, not overly sweet, and the light dusting of powdered sugar on top added just the right balance. Then came the hot chocolate, every sip was creamy, indulgent, and not overly rich, making it the perfect companion to the croissant.

But what truly elevated this experience was dipping the croissant into the hot chocolate. That moment was pure magic, flaky, buttery pastry soaked in warm, luxurious chocolate, perfection in the making. It was a match made in culinary heaven.

If you’re looking for a way to brighten your day and indulge your senses, do yourself a favor and stop here. You’ll leave with a full heart and even...
