**Restaurants That Locals in Chicago Love to Eat At 🤤**

I recently visited Chicago, and Niu B was conveniently located near my hotel on the corner of S Michigan Ave and E 9th Street. I was immediately impressed by the menu and the lunch special. The lunch bento special is beautifully presented. For $15, it includes miso soup, an entrée (I chose the honey sesame chicken), a portion of rice, California maki, and a green mixed salad.I also added a crunch roll to my order, and it was made to perfection. Regarding the ambiance, this location is very intimate, and the embellishments are beautiful. I'd say, perfect for solo or group dining. The chef are so immaculate as they prepare the rolls. So if you sit bar side, you're able to see firsthand experience of them creating the signature rolls. Additionally, the restaurant was busy, so the service was a bit slow. However, my dining experience was so peaceful. If I'm ever back in Chicago, I'll be stopping again!

I did not have a good experience at this restaurant, particularly with the service. From the beginning, no one attended to our table until I got up and asked if someone could serve us, as we were waiting to order. The server assigned to our table was inappropriate, often throwing dishes around. Our water jug remained empty for a long time until I requested a refill. The dish I ordered, mushroom ramen, had a terrible smell. Initially, I thought the odor was coming from a nearby restroom, but it turned out to be my food. The smell was so bad that everyone at our table felt nauseous. I had to ask for it to be replaced, even though I was really craving ramen. I replaced it with sushi, which was good, but the poor service ruined the dining experience. The price was high for the level of service provided. We were charged extra for a spoonful of sauce and an additional 2% surcharge. Overall, I did not enjoy my visit. The interior had no distinctive design, and the constant clattering of dishes was very annoying. I will not be returning to this restaurant. The service was terrible, the atmosphere was unpleasant, and I didn’t get to enjoy the dish I was looking forward to.

I have to say i didn’t enjoy the food and service here. My friend has been here before and she enjoyed the food and service. But this time, both of us didn’t really like our food, and the waiter/bartender in the back is not very attentive, we were always waiting for him. Even there only have two tables guests there. when we try to get dessert, he never came by, we waited for more than 10 mins, and we decided not to have it. So we called someone else to ask him to bring the check. In terms of the food, the wagyu sushi is definitely not worth it, 9 dollars for a very thin slice of shaved piece, even the wagyu is not really A5 as they labeled. Also don’t get their mushrooms soup, it’s too salty and sour. And their ramen is like, instant noodle, sorry for saying that but it’s the truth. Their takoyaki is full of flour instead of some octopus meat.

I walk by often and decided to stop in one Saturday for lunch. I ordered the lychee martini, zen maki and the sautéed string beans. I was brought out an miso soup even though I didn’t order it, so I think it comes with an meal. Everything was delicious! The chef went on break when I arrived so the restaurant graciously gave me the string beans gratis as I was leaving because I was waiting so long. I ended up going inside to just pay because I hadn’t seen the waitress in a long time, and that’s when they explained everything. They were very nice and apologetic and I appreciated their offer. I’m glad I got to try it because I will for sure order it next time, so flavorful! The miso soup was also the best I’ve ever had 🥣 This is my favorite sushi restaurant in the south loop, highly recommended!
