The crispiness of the fries was really good. I think they might cook them in an oven. The fries were almost cold, but still fine. The chicken sandwich is fine. It's got a bit of juiciness so that's good. The burger was good. It has a bit of a homemade taste to the patty. The cookie has salt on it which I like. It's a bit doughy inside which I thought I might like, but I'm not sure if was supposed to be and I didn't like it. Maybe I need to try another batch cooked longer. No tap water. Only bottle water. Annoying. The tip option pops up when you pay. This is counter service and shouldn't be an option here. Pay your staff properly. The place itself was super clean and organized. I think the grill or whatever is in another room. The restaurant is like in the entrance of a university. The staff was very helpful. The staff were kinda gossiping and swearing in the open area which was a bit rude. I mean, I swear a lot, and I want people to enjoy their job, but just seems unprofessional.

What a great find! I had a burger and it was perfect. I especially liked the grilled onions and the house secret sauce, and the burger was cooked just right. It was delicious. My kid tried the fries first, and we were both impressed. Good price for a nice size bag of hot fries. And the “alley bird” chicken sandwich was also great! My daughter can’t usually finish a regular sized chicken sandwich but she’s finishing hers as I type this. The minute she bit into it, she said it was delicious and she proceeded to chow down. It’s breaded with cornmeal (if I remember correctly) and it’s super crunchy and very tasty. And bonus, the buffalo sauce for the chicken sandwich comes on the side, so I used it as a tangy dip for my fries. A couple of bottles of Jarritos and a delicious large sea salt chocolate chip cookie rounded out a great Saturday evening meal. My kid was fully entertained by a TV playing Fail Army. Next time we’re downtown we will come back here!

This was our first time in Chicago and I saw the reviews so I thought we’d give it a try. The food was actually pretty good. I had a burger and my husband had a grilled chicken sandwich. The onion rings and fries were really good. We also tried the cookies and cream shake which seemed like it was made out of ice and oat milk. It wasn’t the best we’ve had. Overall would definitely recommend. The staff was super friendly and the order was prepared quickly. It is in the building where the East/West university is so the layout was a little weird.

New to working in the area so decided to try out this spot. I ordered the double alleyburger with fries and a diet dr. Pepper. I did read some of these reviews before coming and the owners responses interested me enough to try myself and give a review. Firstly let's get to the food. Burger was good, hot, soft bun, toppings were fresh, burger was very beefy in flavor, just the right amount of salt. There's nothing incredible or unique about it, they have a special sauce but it's just another variant of classic burger sauce. That being said I definitely enjoyed it, and have no complaints and would recommend for anyone in the area looking for a good burger. Fries were also fresh and hot, straight cut style normal thickness. A good crispy crunchy exterior and tender center, also salted the right amount. Perfect fries to combo with a good burger. Service, really no complaints, it is oddly separated from where you order and where you pick up, seems like that's just the way the building is set up and I besides being a bit odd I don't find anything to dock them points for there. There's 1 cashier that I can see, the cooks are in the back kitchen and by the time I picked up my food from the window they were gone so no interactions with them face to face but they put everything together well. Setup and Cleanliness, there were tables inside both counter height near the window and lower table height seats, and all seemed clean, the cashier was quick to wipe down an area after customers had finished and left. No public bathrooms and I didn't ask about where the nearest would be but that's something of note. A few tvs and music playing at a pleasant level. Overall this is a nice place and the food I tried was well prepared and...

I was in Chicago for vacation over NYE and was looking for a simple burger joint, and man was this place just what I needed! I'm not usually a burger person, we went for my boyfriend, but upon hearing that they served Wagyu beef I had to try it.

As I said, not a huge burger person because they tend not to sit well, always too heavy in restaurants so I tend to only have them at home. These burgers are perfection! I ordered a Single Alley burger cooked medium, their standard, and had the garlic aioli instead of the house special sauce. My boyfriend got the Single Alley burger prepped as on the menu. I have never had such a flavorful burger where the meat tasted so good without a lot of seasoning! The bun was a soft deli style, not too sweet; the grilled onions were the best texture (not too crunchy, not slimy), and the house sauce was surprisingly delicious (not like thousand island at all!). The hot fries were a great balance of crispy outside with just enough soft in the middle. And the baked-to-order giant cookie was amazing.

The pricing is way better here than a lot of the really fancy-pants bistro/bar type places you can get a burger in the South Loop area; I can't believe I got to try Waygu beef for the first time at this price point! The customer service is top notch as well; the young guy running the counter was super friendly and helpful for our first visit, and I even overheard him on the phone later about a GrubHub order... He called to check on an allergy, because the order asked for dairy-free, but their buns have dairy, so he was checking so the customer didn't accidentally get...

As I came into the restaurant it was my first time experiencing the restaurant I asked about a couple of things on the menu and a manager explained it. I proceeded to purchase three items when I receive one of the items there was a lot of salt on it so I asked for new ones with lesser salt. They told me no remind you I never been at this restaurant a day in my life so the cashier told me that the managers said they refunded me already from the back the managers never came out the back and said they gave me a refund so I asked her. Could she tell the manager to come to the front they took their time coming into the front and when she came to the front, she had a nasty attitude because I had a lot of salt on my fries and I asked for more and she didn’t wanna give them to me And didn’t wanna give me a refund and then I asked her let me have the receipt for the refund she stalled about that and had a very nasty attitude about it didn’t care about anything I was saying just brushed off everything I was saying and didn’t care about my service that I receive she didn’t try and recommend anything or try and solve the problem.. These people are very rude unprofessional, and I don’t understand how they are still doing business in this community with that type of attitude. The fries were old. The drink was soupy. I had a slushy just not a good place to eat at...
