My new favorite lunch spot in the Loop! I’ve been telling all my friends and family about how wonderful the food and service is at Seedo’s.
The sandwiches are really good. Pastrami has a slight edge on the turkey, but both are great. Love the combo of the (house made) slaw, meat, and pickles. The size is very reasonable for the price, especially considering how much of each ingredient is between the slices of bread. Speaking of: The sandwich bread is fantastic. Some crunch on the outside, but lots of flavor and complements the rest of the sandwich.
My first time there, they gave me one of the little labneh and lemon Bundt cakes for free, because apparently they’d been slightly overcooked. I say “apparently” because neither I nor my wife could tell: the cakes were fantastic. Nice and punchy lemon, some cream and tiniest labneh tang. And the hibiscus glaze was the perfect complement on top—not too much of it and not overly sweet.
But the true star(s) of the show are the manakeesh, which are akin to focaccia with delicious toppings. All three are perfect. The olive one is stuff full of real olive chunks. The feta and white cheese one is salty and creamy. And the zaatar is herby and delicious. Seriously, I could eat just these for days.
I mentioned they gave me a free cake? The service is great. Friendly and super excited to be there and talk about the food. Every time I’ve chatted with the owner/baker for a few minutes and it’s only made me want to come back more.
This is definitely my new go-to spot for lunch when I’m at work. Thanks for all...
Read moreSeedo’s Levantine Bakery not only crafts incredibly flavorful baked goods and lunch items, but does so using only the highest quality organic ingredients. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and full of positive energy—it’s always a pleasure to visit. I’ve been several times and try something new each time: a pastrami sandwich that satisfies my craving for Katz’s Deli, a perfectly dressed turkey sandwich, and bread that’s truly exceptional. The olive manaeesh is ridiculously tasty, and the chocolate chip cookie—no joke—is the best I’ve ever had. The za’taar and lebnah croissant, new to me, delivered absolute tastebud fireworks.
The bread really stands out, making their tomato basil and beef pepperoni pizzas must-tries. It can easily go up against any top pizza in the city. I especially appreciate the rare offering of beef pepperoni.
Simply put, Seedo’s is a must-visit—you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and I don’t give such high...
Read moreSeedo’s is such a brilliant bakery. Everything is freshly made and you can tell how much thought and care has gone into making these items. The pistachio croissant is light and airy with a dense, generous pistachio marzipan that is to die for. The zaatar croissant with labneh offsets the herbaceous zaatar with light pastry and the creamy, decadent tang of labneh. The chocolate cookie, without a doubt, is one of the best I’ve ever had. Their sandwiches with the focaccia/taboon bread are crunchy and filling, and the zaatar manakeesh is herby, bright, and so flavorful. Don’t walk,...
