It's wonderful to see the space filled with the vibrant and youthful energy of Stussy's! While Bridgeport Restaurant will be fondly missed, I am glad to see it filled once again with a refreshing take on diner fare. Immediately walking in, folks greeted us and had us seated (all fabulously dressed, some sporting black button down dresses with a tapered waist and white piping, others with statement pink shirts, and my personal favorite bright pinstripe vest with matching Milkman cap). We were waited on by a couple different servers and they were all kind. Some did ask the same question and asked if we'd already had our order taken. I think they're still ironing out some of the kinks in terms of divvying up sections for service, but I rather an over- than under- served table. Green and pink decor abound, the colors are punctuated with a 60s themed collage on the far wall. It doesn't shy away from embracing a fun and feminine style! I went for the strawberry short stack since it seemed to match the vibe of the space (and was featured on the poster outside). My partner went for the Burger Burger with a side salad. They accidentally swapped his side and brought out the salad, offering the fries on the house since it was their mix-up. I enjoyed the strawberry-forward flavors of my short stack. The sauce was definitely my favorite part, the pancakes soaking up all that berry juice and sweetness! It came with a side of eggs and bacon. They only have beef bacon and turkey bacon so I tried beef bacon for the first time. The flavor was very similar to pork bacon and I really enjoyed the bite of the beef. I thought it would be tougher to chew like jerky, but it was crispy. The Burger Burger was deeply satisfying, beefy with bits of crunch from the smashed cooking technique. The fries hit that cravable ratio of crispy, soft potato interior, and salty goodness. We left feeling full and happy! I'm excited to go back to try their specialty drinks next time. Their tea options sounded so intriguing (like the peach cobbler and green tea with lavender). Welcome to the neighborhood, Stussy's! (P.s. in the photo I tried to blur and crop out other customers to respect their privacy so don't mind the random blur spots)

If you’re stopping by Bridgeport for a White Sox game, or if you’ve been living here for a while and somehow never made it—do yourself a favor and head over to Stussy’s Diner! Step inside and you’re instantly welcomed into a classic American diner with a playful twist—pink brightens every corner, giving the whole place a cheerful, retro vibe. The menu is full of fun names that match the energy, whether you’re feeling like a baddie or leaning into your all-American babe side. For me, I always come for one thing: Stussy’s Chicken & Waffles. As someone who reviews chicken and waffles across the Midwest, I can honestly say this is the crème de la crème of Illinois. Here’s my breakdown: Presentation – 4/5 A classic setup of 4–5 chicken tenders/wings served on a Belgian waffle, topped with whipped cream and powdered sugar. Simple, but eye-catching. Texture – 5/5 The chicken tenders are hand-breaded, light, and crispy—exactly what you want in every bite. Flavor – 5/5 Spontaneous and addictive! The sweet-and-savory combo shines, but the real star is the hot honey. That spicy kick balances everything beautifully and keeps you coming back for more. Originality – 5/5 That homemade hot honey? Divine. I’ve never had anything like it before—it takes the dish to another level. Creativity – 6/5 Yes, I’m going above the scale here. The seasoning on the chicken paired with the hot honey makes this dish stand out. And visually, it’s just as much a work of art as it is a meal. It’s food chemistry at its finest! Digestion – 4/5 As someone who’s lactose intolerant, this dish was surprisingly easy on the stomach. A couple burps here and there, but no aches at all—likely thanks to the way the breading and waffle are made. Final Verdict: Highly Recommend!🎉👏🏽 Stussy’s Chicken & Waffles aren’t just food—they’re an experience. If you’re in Bridgeport, this dish is a must-try.

First the food was ok? The wings were had were extremely salty and sour but maybe that’s how they are supposed to be. My burger burger tasted like a big mac which is fine?? Fries were probably the best thing we had. All the staff were on their cell phones. There was a slight smell of weed, but might have been another patron. Can’t tell. I always wanted to visit this place and I really really wanted to like this place because it’s local and the neighbor racists didn’t want to give this place a chance on facebook. I was really rooting for you guys. I never seem to have a good time to come here, until recently when I received a coupon for this place after purchasing a digital coupon book from a school sports team fundraiser (a digital coupon book through Vertical Raise). Apparently, Stussy’s manager was unaware of the legitimacy of this coupon which is fine, but I felt dismissed the first time I asked to use the coupon because all I heard was “The manager don’t know where this is from.” Which, fair… but you don’t ask me where it’s from?? I tried to explain to the server where it was from and she brought out the manager. Manager told me the same thing that she doesn’t know where it’s from and if she honored the coupon the restaurant would lose money. Again, didn’t care what I had to say about where I got the coupon from and was extremely dismissive. I ask that she relay this to the owner because the restaurant is on a legitimate coupon book, if they shouldn’t be, someone who can make a decision should know. But how dismissed I was, I don’t trust that this message would be relayed. So here it is. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back. They don’t seem to care if I came back anyway. So with that, we’re on the same page.

As a life long resident of the area I can not stress how we need new businesses in the area. Unfortunately after waiting out the soft opening period Stussy's Diner is still rough around the edge. I would have no problem with the prices if everything was on par.

This seemed to start off on the wrong foot as soon as our first attempt to be seated. The booth we were placed in was not a full booth. As a party of 3 adults and 1 child there was no way we would be able to sit in this "booth" that was meant for small kids on one side. The hostess also had an Airpod in the whole time we were there which I find strange in a place of business. While we waited for the next available booth a line formed. It was enough time to take a closer look at the former Bridgeport Restaurant that it had taken place of. Outside of a heavy coat of paint I believe everything was still from the old restaurant and poorly executed. In the front was an open electrical junction box in the ceiling. You can still see painters tape all over if you look up. The floor looks like a coat of paint and you can see the spray over of black and white onto trim work. The edges of the booth tables look sloopy with the "faux marble" paint job and you can see the paint running dried up. The hostess seemed at a lost most of the time and didn't even notice that 3 booths had been cleaned and cleared to seat us in a timely manner. When she realized this she waved us over which I thought was quite rude.

Our server was polite and did the best as I'm sure the pace was overwhelming. She kindly warned that the kitchen turnaround time might be closer to 30 - 40 mins. We ordered immediately since we looked at the menu during our wait and got started to get our food fast considering what the server mentioned. I mentioned started to because orders weren't being brought completely. The person running the food to the table I don't believe had clear direction as he was grabbing and going - based on what I am not sure. We ended up missing a side of pancakes that I had to inquire about. At the same time I could hear other tables having the same issues if not others were orders were not correct.

At the end the check also included a gratuity of 20% for a party of four. I did not see this mentioned anywhere and I am used to this being for a party of 6+. I'm sure I could have said something and had this addressed but I had already spent enough time than I wanted to for brunch. Again - at the end of the day if the service and atmosphere aligned I would have no problem. But with a $20+ average per person I won't be trying this again...
