I have been waiting for this place to open, needed somewhere close to watch bears games, I went here for the 1st time tonight on Superbowl Sunday, had a great time. Great atmosphere, my real and only complaint was my server, I asked for two drinks and never got them. I know it's busy and things get hectic but good service is good service, A server should always be on his or her toes and mindful of their surroundings and customers, I even mentioned this to him, not only did I not get my drinks, but he only checked on us one time. The wonderful bartender Bri assisted me the entire night. She was on it I never had to ask for a re-fill on anything. I can't give a higher review point on service based off my initial server. Bri deserves all the credit so I am giving her these flowers here. I don't know if I am spelling her name right. Thank you Bri for your wonderful energy and service tonight!
Now let's get to the meat of things. I enjoyed the game and the food is pretty good. Them nachos hot dang I love the crunch of the tortilla chips, just what I am use to since being back here from California, it has been a struggle finding good tortilla chips or Mexican food, I do not care for the stone chips that every restaurant and market seem to have. I am not sure what cheese sauce that was on the nachos, but it sure was good, they must make the tortilla's in house because the crunch was much different then the ones I've had at other Mexican joints here in Chicago. Note to all the wings are super tiny wings, I guess that's the style of the restaurant owner, I was told they have the same wings at his other location called Signature. So do not get too upset if you receive your order and there are lil bitty tiny wings on your plate. We had the garlic parmesan and bbq. I love the garlic parm better. I also had the chicken sandwich it come with this pickled slaw type of topping which was not bad considering I don't care for slaw. The fries are okay, but the real winner is the honey dill dipping sauce OMG! Heaven, had my mouth humming. I could just swim in that stuff. The only thing I missed trying was the Cookie Dessert, that will be next visit for sure. Oh and I don't wanna bash, but I have to be honest. They gave us a free slice of pizza, only thing I liked was the crust. That my friends needs some reconsideration there. flabby no sauce, just a big NO! The pepperoni needs a different brand, it wasn't good, I ended up picking them off. So there we have it folks, all in all good place to stop by if you are in the area especially...
Read moreMan, was it worth the wait for the Staley to open and bring back to life to this restaurant starved South Loop area! The ambience is fun, spacious and exciting with huge plentiful TV screens, a bright, renovated massive bar, abundance of tables comfortably set to enjoy with friends, family, and to meet new friends! There's a huge back dining area in addition to a mini game room like foosball and bowling machine. Now the scrumptious food: we enjoyed delicious hush puppies with a tasty side sauce, mozzarella sticks, perfectly tossed Caesar salad, two different pizzas, one vegan, and one with sausage. Fish and chips were perfection. The side of mac & cheese hit the spot. The entree of the mac & cheese was creamy, and the garlic breadcrumbs and chicken on top were the perfect amount. Very, very good. The drinks were perfectly chilled and presented. Leah was our waitress and she and her assistants were beyond attentive, friendly, prompt, professional, and gave great suggestions and descriptions of the menu items. Kudos to Joshua, our host who is super friendly, attentive and welcoming. And finally, a huge thank you to co-owner & former Bears defenseman Israel Idonije! Thank you, Izzy, truly from my heart, you are an amazing valuable addition to our neighborhood - we are so lucky to have you! Love the Bears centric atmosphere, especially the original Decatur Staley team (pre-Bears) wall poster. I also love going to your other restaurant, the Signature often with a different menu & upscale vibe. Will be visiting both your...
Read moreThe Staley is a nice sports bar with huge projector screens great to watch football games or sports in general. I recently dined in for the Bears opening game and was very disappointed. First of all our server didn’t reach our table until about 30mins in. Then we were offered complimentary appetizers because of our wait but all of the appetizers were 86d or out of stock and we waited and hour and 30mins for the apps that weren’t out of stock to hot the table! We sat down at 7pm and apps didn’t get here till 8:36pm. I ordered the 16t wings and a small ranch came with the meal honestly for that amount of wings they need to serve a bigger ranch… I asked my server for more ranch and it never came. We had to keep telling food runner and hostess to ask our server to come check up on us. I understand this restaurant is fairly new and this is their first bears game but they need to staff up and train their workers how to handle this high paced environment. Either that being a manger helping out on the floor, servers communicating that the kitchen may be backed up and communicating when certain items on the menu are out of stock, and the hostess being able to seat people efficiently and problem solve. I would not rec coming here for solider field events unless you are okay with waiting for long periods of time without service and mediocre food that are very...
