This place is simply amazing. I luv sushi but I like to try many things. Unfortunately, even at AYCE, when you order a roll you get 8 pieces and honestly I only want to have 1 slice, so I can try others. Finally, someone decided to do a sushi by weight. We do ice cream and pizza by weight, so why not sushi. But here’s the kicker; the ingredients are fresh, high quality and super flavorful. And the trays I purchased was about 2 lbs total for only about $15 each. Thats at least one maki roll in restaurants but you only get to try one thing. But I really like nigiri, and the cost by piece is so much less than restos and grocery store nigiri. The space is contemporary and very clean, extremely minimalist, which gave it eye appeal. The staff was helpful and friendly. There is very little seating but I think that’s apropos!! My suggestion is get your trays and walk across the street to the nearby parks or the steps of the Art Institute and people watch or enjoy with that special person in the open air!! Definitely will travel to Loop just for this food concept!!

Appreciated this newly opened spot! The price was reasonable, and we loved the variety of rolls and nigiri options available. Would recommend the salmon and tuna nigiri, as well as the dynamite and eel rolls. The rice was well seasoned for both nigiri and rolls. Their setup is sanitary and makes sure that trays and tongs are cleaned between uses. They also have free cucumber water, and you can get your own eel sauce and spicy mayo. Only recommendation is having allergen labels for the rolls, especially for folks who have shellfish allergy but still love sushi. The staff was knowledgeable in answering our questions though. Overall, enjoyed this spot. Will def be coming back.

I have never experienced sushi by weight before, It was beyond my expectations. First of all the staff was super friendly explained how everything work witch was very simple. Second the selection of sushi are premium I thought the sushi would be so average but not in this spot. Lastly and most surprising me was the price was cheap. I mean some time you pay what you get right but this place I have never paid this less for what I got. Final I must have to point it out was I pick many different kind of sushi in pieces and tried many different kinds. You can not get this unique restaurant at anywhere, don't think, RUN!!

I really like this sushi by weight concept and the quality I’m getting for the money.

This place has great variety and the quality is great. I’d say the quality of the sushi is on par with most neighborhood sushi restaurants. The ingredients are fresh, the sushi rice is well cooked and flavorful. Overall just decent sushi.

Price is very affordable too at $14.99/lbs. For reference, the two trays are about 0.7lbs each, so 1.4lbs together, and the total after tax is $24.22. That’s seriously good value as a premium sushi roll from the grocery store these days costs $12-15. So offering quality sushi at this price is seriously good value and I’m all for it

I really like the whole concept and the sushi this place makes, I’ll be a regular and I hope...
