Today's my birthday, and I usually like to go out for breakfast on my birthday. Given the pandemic, I decided to do takeout instead. I called up at 10:37am & placed my order for a copperline special with bacon. The woman I spoke to said it would be "a half hour at least." So I knew I'd be in for a wait. I went in for 11:10am to check if my food was ready, I wanted to let them know I was there to pick up at least even though I figured it would be longer. I was told that my order would be ready shortly. I decided to wait inside since it sounded like my order was going to be ready any minute. Over the next 45 minutes waitresses regularly asked for the order name and checked the kitchen as I waited. One apologized and said she felt bad. It seemed like a kitchen issue at first, and I thought to myself "it's a pandemic, everything's weird and chaotic. We're all doing our best" even after 1135am when it was nearly an hour since I had placed my order. Around 1150am or so, someone came up one last time to ask my name and went to the kitchen area. At this point I was thinking about just walking out, but thought "the moment I do is when my food will finally be ready and I can eat." Then someone came back over and asked if I ordered via doordash or called in. I asked if I should even bother waiting at this pint and asked if someone was currently making my food. She seemed kind of at a loss for words, (this was also the only waitress who had apologized to me) and didn't seem to know where my order was. I was so hungry and exhausted with waiting, nearly an hour and a hald after placing my order and over 45 minutes of waiting.... only to be asked how I placed my order because they had clearly lost it....that I just walked out. I didn't think eggs, bacon, home fries, and pancakes in a takeout container were too much to ask of the universe for my birthday. Thankfully Petros has a much more organized system and when I called them and asked how long the wait would be they were able to make me a breakfast within 20 minutes. Unfortunately I was so hungry and frazzled after my experience with Copperline that I forgot parts of my order and didn't end up with everything I had wanted for my birthday breakfast (I forgot homefries and I love me some breakfast potatoes 😭. ) I've wanted to go to Copperline for awhile now, and while a pandemic certainly doesn't make for ideal circumstances, and everything is more complicated now than before....it was absolutely unacceptable to have lost my order and only just realize it and start to investigate after 45 minutes of waiting and an hour and a half after I first placed my order. I don't think I could ever go back after this awful first experience. Shout out to Petros for...
Read moreThe food was cold, we did not receive everything that we ordered, the wait time was over an hour. The service from our server and manager was awful. Mold on ceiling. The space is very crowded and there's too many people with not enough seating (I accepted this part of the restaurant, but it bothered me). The manager forced us to pay for cold oatmeal (that we did not touch as you can see in the photo) that we recieved after over an hour of ordering. The server we recieved was very rude, unorganized and nasty, along with the manager. I never write reviews unless it's absolutely necessary because it requires my limited time and attention as a single working parent, so for me to go out of my way and do this, makes it very important for others to see this review. I have been coming here for years. I take my 1 year old daughter here because I like to feed her home cooked style meals. Today I have received the worst service in my 28 years of dining out. We waited patiently over an hour for our food. When the food came, we told our server that we did not want the oatmeal because it was cold, we waited too long for it and we were not going to eat it. We also had to keep reminding the server that we did not receive our pancakes and bread and water that we ordered. When our missing food finally arrived, it was cold and we accepted that, without complaining, because we were hungry. When the check came, we noticed the oatmeal was being charged and we kindly reminded our rushing, forgetful, rude server that we will not be paying for the oatmeal because we did not touch it. She said we HAVE to pay for it. We asked to speak to the manager, he came and said we ordered it so we have to pay for it even though we did not touch it. We politely refused to pay for something that we did not eat and the manager went off very rudely on us, humiliated us in front of everyone, including my 1 year old baby, then he said in front of everyone, "DON'T COME BACK HERE!" I apologized on his behalf to his costumers that were being interrupted from eating by such behavior from the manager. We called the police and explained the situation. My family and I couldn't believe we were treated such way, especially by the manager after coming here for so many years. If the manager treats his Costumers like this, I feel very sorry for the workers. They have lost some loyal costumers and I will be spreading the word about the manager and server. Save your time and money, and go somewhere else. MRS. Mitchell's is a great spot in Holyoke similar to the food here, and Petros in Chicopee as well. Take care, and stay safe everyone. We live in a place where everyone is becoming so bitter, especially in the...
Read moreDont recommend it. We live 3 min away, and it was a pick-up order. Recently, I had a fit for some good breakfast food which this place used to be a go-to hidden gem, not anymore, it seems. I got the copper line special. Pancakes burnt and so dry tons of syrup couldn't save them couldn't even eat them was like trying to eat a dry sponge. Toast was barely toasted. Eggs were ok. The breakfast potatoes were ok. We ordered a large side of hash, which used to be amazing huge chunks of super dry jerky like pieces of corned beef all throughout. I asked for a side of COUNTRY gravy that I couldn't seem to find on the menu, so we asked for some IF THEY HAD IT on the side in the special notes section.
My wife walked in the cook, shouted super loud and super rudely. "Ya know, ya gotta pay for the gravy," as if we were trying to pull a fast one for a portion cup of gravy... I think we're ok paying for some gravy, sir. The gravy was NOT white country style gravy. It was brown chunky gravy that you'd serve on a meatloaf or roast or mashed potatoes. My wife's food was ok at best. We took $40+ tossed it out the window with 90% of our "breakfast lunch" My wife is a manager in a kitchen at a business in Northampton and she said this food would've NEVER made it to her customers.
It seems the food industry almost everywhere you go now. High prices awful food. Seems no one cares or take any pride in the food they make. It seems like they just want to get the food out so they can go back to doing anything but putting out good food. I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed we were and how bad it sucks to waste that kind of hard...
