My friend and I ordered three courses for two people. Let's talk about the dishes first. 1:lettuce w/preserved tofu sauce 9/10 Crispy leaves without black cooking in place, precise seasoning. But the dish is not quite right. According to my understanding, dishes with soup should use a saucer to avoid spilling the soup. In China, this dish is also colored with shredded red pepper. 2:Chinese sauerkraut w/pork tripe 7/10 The whole dish is very well cooked with raw starch, which is very thin but completely wrapped. From serving to eating about 40 minutes without water, we can see that the chef's cooking skills are very good. Pork belly has a small amount of odor is not removed clean, personal suggestions can try to add a small amount of Sichuan pepper, dried pepper, anise, cilantro and a large number of white peppercorns and a moderate amount of salt brine to make pork belly, in order to completely suppress the odor, onion and pepper should be reduced as a color match, increase the amount of pickled cabbage. When cooking dishes, add a little garlic chilli sauce or bean sauce to add color and enrich the taste of dishes. 3:roasted duck 8/10 The roast duck tastes good and the meat is roasted duck 8/10. In my impression, the flavor of roast duck and star anise will be more prominent, the color should be jujube red will make diners more hungry, roast duck sauce can add a little brandy to enhance the smell. The firing temperature is 200-210 degrees Celsius. The price is moderate, the overall rating is 9/10, and the Cantonese restaurant system in California can be ranked top10. I wanted to order coconut crispy chicken but the restaurant didn't have it. It's a pity. It was just us when we came. The server is enthusiastic. The restaurant is clean and hygienic. The teapot is beautiful. Dine-in is...
Read moreUpdate as of 10/2025: we’ve eaten here many times since my last update. This time the dim sum dishes tasted a bit off. Not sure if the dim sum chef had a day off or stayed up way too late playing mahjong the night before. All the fried and grilled items came with extra grease (unlike our previous visits) and tasted just a bit off (slightly overcooked, perhaps?). Also the service was acceptable, but didn’t feel as friendly or attentive as all of our prior visits. We will continue to dine here and hopefully the management will revert back to its former state. We did try its latest addition: crispy coconut chicken. We ordered the 1/2 chicken and that was pretty tasty, a bit small for 1/2 chicken, but nonetheless it was better than our dim sum dishes on this visit.
Update: we’ve returned again. As always, the Cantonese dishes were authentic and very tasty, and the service was friendly and efficient. I surely don’t understand the low scores from other reviewers. This place is worth a try if you haven’t done so already.
I tried the bitter melon with beef. It was excellent as the Mellon was crispy but cooked and the beef was very tender. Its flavor really reminded me of tiny shops in Hong Kong.
This is a great under the radar dim sum place. There are several dim sum places in Chino Hills and I think this is the best. They have limited dim sum dishes and certainly not as good as the ones in Hong Kong or Guangdong, but for Chino Hills I think this is a great place for dim sums. The duck is on the lean side, but pretty good. Most other dishes we had were decent, though nothing special. The service has always been friendly and good. During COVID, we were grateful this place stayed open for takeouts and we did just...
Read moreThis is by far the best Chinese (Cantonese) food l have eaten in Chino Hills, l've waited 26 years for a restaurant like this to open here. I used have to drive to Rowland Heights to find food equivalent this quality. The West Lake Beef w/Tofu Soup is to died for. This my family favorite soup. The Roasted Duck is as good as any l'v eaten in San Francisco or even Hong Kong, l should know, l was born and raised there. It's slightly on the salty for my wife but it's way l like. It comes with a citrus sauce life a marmalade that is a perfect compliment eaten together. One of my family's favorite is the #27 Salt & Pepper Pork Chop plus #38 Salt & Pepper Squid. Of we love the Beef Chow Fun, it's even great as a leftover if you re fry it a little oil and not in a microwave. Instead of ordering white rice, l recommend get #72 Pan Fried Noodle W/Soy Sauce, it goes with all the meat and vegetables dish especially if one love noodles as much as we do. One last recommendation, the dim sum is excellent, been getting the Sui-Mai Ha Gow (Shrimp Dumplings) for couple of months, even the frozen version is fantastic steaming at home at your convenience. We haven't tried every Dim Sum dishes but we're working on it. Since Sam Woo closed in Rowland Heights, we are extremely we have found a equally good authentic Chinese restaurant and the service was very attentive unlike most Chinese restaurants l've been to....
