If you're in the Chino area and are debating between Wabi Sabi and Shima... I recommend SHIMA 100%! For 4 reasons: SHIMA uses more garlic butter! If you're a garlic lover. . . SHIMA is the way to go! The way they season their scallops is 🔥 ! Their fried rice, in my opinion, is better and more flavorful! They actually give you drink refills! At Wabi I feel I'm always looking around for a server to order another drink. At Shima They were on top of their drink orders. And last but DEFINITELY not least. . . ALBERTO! He was our Teppan Chef and he was amazing! Super entertaining and an amazing cook! He cooked my steak to a PERFECT medium rare (pictured below) and was very attentive! Did I mention he also has some hilarious jokes (in spanish)! He had our whole table laughing! (LITTLE TIP buy your Teppan Chef a Sapporo/beer) trust me your kindness to your Chef will go a LONG way! Over all my first time dining at Shima was amazing! My first drink was a Yokozuna Martini which was good but too sweet for my liking! And I ordered their Shima steak with Calamari and added scallops! Read moreon Friday the 30th... we had dinner at Shima....but it wasn't what we expected... first off... the cook didn't appear trained and didn't to all the tricks... then a lady across from us found a fried bug/fly that was cooked with the rice... everyone started taking pics of the fork with the bug... the staff was advised of the finding and it still took over 25 minutes for the manager to come to us because he was bartending... REALLY... to busy to deal with contaminated food... Wow... After others at the table had their words with the manager, he came over to me and i handed him the fork with the fried insect for him to see it... I think what bothered the most was that the manager was too busy to deal with a full table of concerned patrons... they eventually took the food off the bill and we just paid for drinks.. after years of going to this restaurant... we will not be going back..... hope others had a better experience because this event ruined the family dinners at our table.. Too bad this app doesn't let me post pics.. the pictures that were taken were posted on Yelp by...

Well. This place will cook your meal with the chef performing and it serves both sushi and grill type food.
Nevertheless, the food was quite good. The Shima steak was made really well. I asked for medium and the chef made it perfectly medium as he did his show for us as he cooked. That seems impressive to me.
I got salmon and yellowtail rolls and both were good. Not necessarily, holy smokes, these are delicious sushi type of great. But they were solid rolls.
Price for non sushi and sushi are pretty steep though. The rolls I got were $11 each. And it wasn't like they were massive rolls.
Overall, good restaurant. Maybe but quite the place where you think you totally got your bang for your buck, but it is a...
