Wara Cafe — Restaurant in Chino

I was (unironically) in the mood for an overpriced Millennial burger, and Wara’s looked really good on screen so we came for brunch. We actually failed our first attempt because they close at like 2pm and shut the waitlist off even earlier. I actually didn’t know this cafe turns into an wagyu shabu place at night, but that kinda checks out. The meat is really good, and they probably need time to set up for dinner. When we finally were able to snag a seat, they were out of like 4 things lol.

(=^ ◡ ^=) “Hi welcome to Wara we are out of W, X, Y, Z.” (._.) “oh, ok.”

Luckily, everyone in my party already knew what they wanted and our choices did not include any of those 4 things. But I would’ve been kinda pissed if I waited that long (the wait was like an hour+) and the thing I wanted had run out.

At least the Wagyu burger was delicious. It was probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The meat was very juicy and high quality. I really liked the house made tomato jam - kinda like an elevated ketchup. It was honestly perfect. Fried chicken was good too as was the...

This place is a mom and pop Shabu place and owner decided to open a brunch on the same spot from 8am to 2pm. Shabu opens for dinner at 5pm.

The food are delicious and humongous. We ordered 2 Wagyu hamburger and 1 Fried Chicken Croffle. One hamburger has an Avocado add on for $2 and other one has a candied bacon add on for $3. The Fried Chicken Croffle (this is their version of chicken and waffles) is huge. Looks like a whole chicken was cut in half then fried... it's that big 😁. Good for 2 people delicious 🤗. Let's just say we have a lot of food left packed to go.

Servers are very attentive, helpful and service with a smile.

The only drawback I can say, they do not have decaf coffee 😞 I hope they will in the near future.

This new spot is the new spot. Off Roswell & Schaefer, Shabu Wara offers brunch from 8am to 2pm and the food is amazing. I ordered the chicken & croffle and it's ridiculous- the chicken is super juicy and crispy, the croffle has officially ruined me on both waffles and donuts due to how delicious it is, and the chili syrup? You'll start adding peppers to yours at home.

Then there were the drinks- have you ever had such great service that you followed staff from one locale to another? That's what I did and I didn't think the drinks or the atmosphere could be even better but it is. The Shrek Latte (matcha, brown sugar & cinnamon) tastes as great as it looks, and the Cha-Cha Latte (hojicha & matcha) may be my new go-to, because the roasted flavor really comes through and is refreshing iced after a meal.
