The atmosphere was very fitting the the food they serve. However as a first time guest all the items we wanted was out...Ribs, brisket...all beef items. 😞
However side note The Bambi is not deer it is chicken...which was another bummer for me. Needless to say I tried the fried fish, mac and cheese and fried Okra- the Fish was seasoned to perfection nice crunch and nice juicy meat (catfish) excellent job on the fish, the Okra was okay The Mac and cheese well my kiddos loved it.
The potato salad not all that, the smoke chicken had a nice smokey flavor and was paired well with the BBQ sauce the meat was juicy not overcooked nor dry....(which made me want the ribs all the more).
My son had a hot dog with fried Okra and he enjoyed it.
My daughter had chicken tenders which tasted like it was made in house and not frozen which was a good thing (not sure but if that is true but bonus points if they were)
We also tried the Brunswick stee which was good and there is also a self serve salad bar for an extra fee.
The drinks were served in masons jars which gives a nice country flare.
Side note: the bathroom was super clean which was a big plus because it's only 1 for males and 1 for females.
Over all the fish and chicken we had was excellent even though I had my heart set on Ribs or brisket...so if you are ever in Chipley,FL they are worth a drop in for a true southern...
Read moreWe have been long time customers of this restaurant. The love that we had for Mr Rick and his family led us to the small site in Cottondale. We followed to Chipley and continued to enjoy. With the passing of Mr Rick came the passing of the torch to another great family. The servers and other workers of the restaurant have left an undeniable impact on our family. We are thankful to “Langela” (Angela) for instilling in our grandbabies a genuine love for servers. She has always been loving, caring, and helpful with them and everyone else we have seen. Also, thanks to Angela our Relay for Life team has got in on some extra cash during “Stick a Fork in Cancer”. Let’s just say her breakfast customers love her and Relay. We give it only 4 stars because of the fact that they are out of numerous menu items from time to time and the dessert menu it pretty much null and void lately. Thanks for all you do for the community! Thanks to everyone for loving and caring for...
Read moreThe food was excellent My issue is with service. Our server, I don't know her name she never told us, made sure she did the minimum. No asking if we needed refills on drinks, only one cursory fly by with a mumble, " Everything ok?" It could have been the fact that she had to squeeze by an off the clock employee that came in to visit with everyone right at the cash register. Angela, I know her name because she said it enough not 3 feet from my table, apparently stopped by after her work out. See I know this because she kept kicking her legs around talking about her workout while constantly rubbing her butt while standing holding court to an obviously enamored busboy, all the while swinging and swigging out of a water jug. I'm out on a rare date night with my husband and we come into Skins and Bubbas to try and enjoy a meal together. NOPE. We get the Angela show, talking to the cashier, over guests trying to pay their bill, legs kicking, butt rubbing. Yea....
