I’ve eaten here many times over the years. My favorite dish is their Chicken Parmesan over linguine or thin spaghetti (you have to ask for the pasta cut of your choice, otherwise they bring penne). They have an All Meat Pizza that’s perfect for this meat lover! This has been a local spot for decades under various incarnations. The latest version has a lively bar, two fairly cramped dining rooms, and a covered outdoor deck. Take your choice on a level of noise. I believe they still allow smoking on the deck. This is not fine dining, but certainly has a more competent and accommodating kitchen than most. That said, I would happily recommend most anything on the appetizer menu. As for pasta, I’m not a fan of their tomato sauce (the marinara is better) and the Alfredo sauce can be soupy. My latest visit was a first time visit for my companion. His sandwich was delicious, but the fries weren’t hot when served. We weren’t impressed by the garlic bread. And my spaghetti seemed kinda boring, although the meatballs were tasty. I’ll stick with my favorites next time! As usual, service was great!

Solid family Italian joint we visited while dropping the girl child off at Geneva College. We decided a day of unpacking and saying our temporary goodbyes called for a massive carbo load and boy did Sal's deliver! The stuffed mushrooms perfectly scratched that itch. The MASSIVE Italian Stallion calzone my wife and I split was delicious, and the all-important marinara was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The flavor balance of the meats was less salty than I expected and that's a good thing. And it was LOADED with cheese. We also enjoyed some Italian Wedding Soup which was delicious. The manling got the Shrimp and Chicken scampi and raved over it; I tried some of the pasta and the angel hair was nice and al dente where most joints seem to overcook it. Service was prompt, friendly, and accurate. What more could we ask for? We will definitely return the next time we are in town.

Please read FULLY FIRST time Eating here. 1. Prices were high from my first impression 2. Appetizer and bread 3. Service 4. Main Meal Calzone just cheese. Wife ordered Fettuccine Alfredo Okay so with these 3 Points allow me to EXPLAIN. 1. Very much well worth the portion and taste is exquisite and NOTHING fell short of spectacular 2. The Appetizer cheese sticks simple enough Had a great great taste not overly seasoned. Bread was awesome with their own butter with a garlic taste. 3. Service very polite quick always was helping or getting something BUT they were NOT in my face like many restaurants are. 4. Calzone may look smallish BUT the more you put in it the bigger they are. Perfectly cooked and taste is perfection. Chicken Alfredo not that greasy type or overly saucy. Also quite amazing yep i tried her food. Perfection with this night

Typical Americanized Italian food; not a problem, this can be done well. It is done well, at many places that aren’t Sal’s. Before we get to the food, the service is slow as can be. Our waitress was very friendly, but seemed overworked; we constantly had to wait on refills, plates, silverware, etc. The restaurant was ridiculously loud. Two tables of cackling drunkards in a relatively small are of the restaurant, so loud that not only could we not hear each other, we could barely hear our waitress. What’s really great is that one of these tables got to-go boxes for their food shortly after they sat down, but continued to scream at each other at the table until 5 minutes before we got our bill. Over an hour. Now, the food. The apps were pricier than Sheetz, with worse quality, and some of the tiniest portions I’ve ever seen in an American restaurant. All of the portions were small, save for 2 of our entrees. Oh, the entrees. Shrimp Scampi? Devoid of any flavor. Salt? Nope. Umami? Never heard of it. It tasted like it was tossed with Crisco, which of course didn’t stick to the pasta whatsoever since the pasta felt like it was not only rinsed, but ran through a dishwasher. The worst offender however, by far and away, was the Fettuccine Alfredo. This is a hard one to make bad. Based on everything else in the restaurant, we expected this to be some commercial cheap Sysco sauce. Why we got was worse than the mediocrity expected; it appeared to have been made in house, and I suspect the cream to have been the spoiled culprit. It smelled like hot dog food, but this wasn’t noticed until after the unfortunate first bite, more sour than a fresh squeezed lemonade. Thankfully, this was taken off the bill without too much fanfare. All in all, I genuinely believe the only was restaurants like this survive is because there’s few if any other options, and people grew up with this and don’t know any different. I never thought I’d say this about a restaurant, but skip this place and head to the nearest Olive Garden. You’ll get better service, somehow better food, and it’ll be cheaper with bigger portions. Sal’s claims to be serving old school “Italian” since 1985, and they aren’t lying. The food tastes like it’s been in the kitchen since 1985. I’d be embarrassed to run a...

I have been a loyal guest for a few years. But July 24, 2022 was my last time visiting this place. My family & I came here to eat for my moms birthday & while we were there, me & my sister decided to walk to the bar & grab a quick drink before our food came out. While we were there, we were questioned by a bartender named Lydia. Apparently we did not look of age, even though we both showed our IDs to her as well as another bartender. When I asked for the manager due to the questioning of our age after presenting our IDs, a lady came out & demanded our IDs. She did not introduce herself at all or asked what the problem was like a professional manager would have. She asked us for a “second form of identification.” She demanded me to pull out my debit & credit cards or she would not serve me, which I found very odd because that does not confirm my age at all. Another manager came out to bring our food when we walked back to our table and asked me how old I was & also demanded my credit & debit cards. He too, did not state his name. I pulled the race card during this situation because I was the only African-American at the bar. The other guests at the bar even thought it was very weird that she was giving me a hard time. She tried to kick us out after some words were exchanged. Again, I have been coming here for years & have never had this problem. Very unprofessional here & completely rude. I will never come back to this...

I really enjoyed this place. The food was great. The service was great. The prices were reasonable for the style of food. I got the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I am very picky about Alfredo sauce. Theirs was not the best I have had but was in the top 5 so I was very happy. I was also able to taste their lasagna which was very good and had a unique flavor. If I get the opportunity to go back to Sal's I would definitely get the lasagna. The only two negatives were the seating and their garlic bread. They did not seem to have any booths it was mostly family style table seating. In general it just felt a bit cramped to me. If you went here for a quiet romantic date you would probably be disappointed. Because of the close open seating it was rather noisy. They do have bar seating but that is not really my interest. I did not like their garlic bread at all, but I think that might just be a difference in style. I like my bread soft with lots of butter and garlic. The bread was obviously Italian style with just a hint of butter/garlic flavor and was toasted to the point it was almost a thick cracker. In summary if I lived closer I would go here...
