After many years of frequenting another local restaurant, my wife and I have a new hangout. At first I wondered how good, or unique, could a sandwich and beer place be, but B&B is amazing. I have tried three of the sandwiches now and I am always impressed with their selection of local beers, especially IPAās, which are my favorite. So here are my ratings on the sandwiches - the bread is a French Baguette and the sizes are much larger than I expected. On our first visit, I tried the Beef Dip which has amazing roast beef, and I had them add grilled onions which made it even better. The second trip I had the Left Coast Pastrami, which might be the best sandwich I ever had, but not sure it is healthy to eat it every day... On the third trip I had the Roast Beef Spicy which I think will be my go-to sandwich. It is basically a high end Philly Steak, but better, but be careful with the jalapeƱos. To top it all off the restaurant has a very open atmosphere and you can site inside, outside, or half in and half out at the bar (my preference). They also have numerous televisions, some with local sport, and some with the beer menu. You have to give this place a try!
One comment to B&B - the sauce is too sweet, I recommend a siracha...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally like this place for a quick bite when I'm in the mood for a sandwich. Of course, the Turkado is my choice. Try it toasted and melted... it's a whole new side of everyone's favorite. It's the only way I'll get it now.
The vibe of the place is a cool PB 90's beach theme which definitely is fitting for the fare of food. The beer selection is sort of limited, and since they only serve beer, sometimes it can be a struggle to find something for those of us who can't do the IPAs. My personal choice is the Cali Creamin' beer from Mother Earth. It's a light beer with a creamy and slight vanilla taste. Ask for a sample of it, or anything! All beers on tap are conveniently listed on their digital tap screen.
In a perfect world, Board & Brew would have a full bar. I've asked them if there's any chance, and the answer was no... but please, management, if you're reading this, PLEASE strongly consider a full bar. I'm not a big beer drinker, and this would totally be the icing on the cake for a great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor 23 years I owned a sandwich restaurant in Boulder, Co. Stopped into the Chula Vista location today and had a turkey subā¦canāt remember the name, but the first selection on the board. The turkey on the sandwich was of such abysmally low quality, they shouldāve been embarrassed to serve it, and if they gave a ratās butt about their customers, they would not have. In the ābizā there are literally dozens of grades of turkey breast to chose fromā¦ā¦.as the quality goes up, so does the price per lb, and the owner gets to decide what they want to serve their customer. I promise you that was the cheapestā¦.if you closed your eyes, put a slice in your mouth, and were given 10 guesses as to what you were eating, turkey would not have been one of them. If this is representative of the quality of their other menu selections, they should change the name...
